of course he should be aiming for asian cup. the asian cup is only 6 months after world cup finishes. Most of the World cup squad should be aiming for it. We shouldn't use this tournament to blood youngsters we should be aiming to win this thing with the best players possible. and if it happens that our youngsters are good enought to play in the asian cup the so be it.

SOCCEROOS veteran Scott Chipperfield is refusing to close the door on his long international career after the World Cup, saying the lure of the 2011 Asian Cup is strong.

Have your say.

well said.

we must use the best players we can. the aim should be to win the tournament..not to use it as a training session

the people who beleive we should send an a-league squad mixed with random young players should get their teeth kicked in

if a young player is good enough, they should prove it and not have to earn free caps by being apart of a B/C squad

"I played 16 games and scored nine goals, so I was happy with the way it went. This year with Basel, I played every position except for goalkeeper."
Mate, that's impressive.
I can't see a new coach leaving him on the sidelines. Who would take his spot? Carney? I like him but he's no Chippers.

I had no idea the asian cup was so close.
I imagine the new Coach will watch the tapes of the world cup games closely so yeah the squad will be similar.

Chippers could be gold at the World Cup. He's come into great form in the last six months and might even bag a goal. He's a Champ.

Champion player. . . could teach our Asian Cup Squad a bit if there is a host of retirements after the WC. The way he's been playing, hope he sticks around for as long as possible because he isn't your average aging player . . . he's uninjured, scoring and a champ.
