SERBIA coach Radomir Antic has cut his World Cup squad to 24 players with Chelsea duo Slobodan Rajkovic and Nemanja Matic two of the six players to be omitted.

what a freakin joke that they can cut 2 chelsea players, a ajax AND a PSV player from their team.

Slobodan Rajković may be a Chelsea player in name but the reality is he has been nowhere near the club having been on loan to PSV and FC Twente since 2007.

Nemanja Matic has made only two substition appearances one against Wolves and one against Wigan....promising players maybe but hardly World Class...yet.

After looking at their team on paper, Im actually scared of them.
I agree with bennyblanco, these guys could top the group.

They are a classy bunch of players. I think they are going to be as tough as Germany. We need to beat Ghana for sure and see what we can scrape up against the other two, and hope the other games go our way.

while they look good on paper who really seen what form they've been in. For example their first choice keep hasn't even been playing for Wigan. Others may have been the same.

Yeah but it is no secret that the only real weak link for Serbia is in goal. Australia's seem to be up front and a few question marks in defence. Serbia is quality almost all over and we need to play out of our skins just to get something. However, I believe Australia are a difficult team to beat and it will be a game of small margins.

Stojkovic is the weak link but with the likes of Vidic, Ivanovic, Kolorov, Subotic and Lukovic manning the back line I dont think he will have too much work to do.
He played four games for Wigan in the latter half of the EPL season so he lacks match fitness but isn't a total write off.

I'm glad more fans are starting to realise the enormity of the task we face. Theyve got a young incredibly talented team who topped their qualifying group and all play for very big teams in europe. Escepially up front and in defence there in completely different league to us. Would be a huge upset for them not to get through the group stage.

Slash Joffa they might not be world class players but still playing at a high level and would be a certainty for our squad.

We need to attack down the wings and keep the ball on the ground around Vidic. Kennedy will be useless in this match as Vidic hardly loses any challenge in the air. What we need is Kewell or Ruka to be in the middle and dragging vidic this way and that way because as Torres showed he is quite slow. We need to take advantage of that.

What we can also hope for is that by the time we play Serbia they have self destructed and are out already which is entirely possible.

I think the key to Serbia will be the 1st game. We must beat Ghana, the game against Germany won't be too vital, then the last game against Australia obviously is a must win.
I also think that the best way to beat us is with Speed.

If Ghana beat Serbia and we beat Ghana and draw with Serbia or Germany I think we will go through.

This. Josh Kennedy should not even play in this game he would be useless. I would start with Kewell and Ruka upfront with Kewell playing just off Nikita but we know that will never happen.

Serbia look good on paper AND on the park. They have a great coach with a huge coaching pedigree in Spain. Unlike our Pim, Radomir Antic has actually come out and said he has the players and the team to win the world cup. What a disgrace you are Pim.

4 very tough teams in the group but we can beat Serbia. Croatia in 2006 were just as good and we'd've beat them if it wasn't for the idiot Poll.

Agree with Junak that Pim is disgraceful for nixing our chances. Is he branin damaged? You might think that but you don't say it!!!!!!!!

Antic is an egomaniac and his team are completely up themselves. I hate tall poppies and they are ripe for the picking!! If we don't get em Ghana will!! I will laugh so much I will cry!!
