Socceroo69

no the worst team "possiable"

Hmm, the worst team "possiable" just lost to your team in the 94th minute of what should have been a 93 minute game.

Good luck for the World Cup :)

Maybe you should learn to read before commenting.

He's arguing about the game, not about New Zealand as a country.

How did you come to that conclusion. No arguing just whinging and he was referring to All Whites as opposition just in case you couldn't understand that either.

I was referring to the fact that socceroo69 rates NZ as some of the worst opponents you could find.

They made the world cup so not the worst opponents to play.

He also sees the Socceroos with only kewell, Chipperfield and Schwarzer unavailable as the B team.

Also a stupid statement when the likes of Cahill, Neil, Macca etc are all available its still quality all across the park.

And I have no problem with Australians all my friends are aussies. I called Fallon an idiot on another post for his stupid comments. So its only the select few on here yourself included who do come across as arrogant by complaining about playing NZ when they did qualify and will probably give you a decent match. It is disappointing the ticket sales are not up to scratch though.

NZ roughly know their 23 and get a chance to test the new CB pairing. For Socceroos they get a chance to try a couple of fringe players to narrow the WC squad.

Can't you say anything without referring to Australia and/or Australians as tossers, losers, arrogant or anything like that. All I read from half you blokes is "Aussie tossers", "arrogant Aussies", "Those dirty, cheating Aussies"...

In reference to Socceroo69, he's arguing about the game, not about New Zealand as an actual country, or its people.

I would give Oar the Nod over Bresciano, who hasnt played in ages, he should come on as a sub. for Oar.

Bench:

Bresciano,
Carle
Mcdonald
Jones
Valeri

Whoever else...

Sorry Culina, dont rate you since you moved back to the A-league. You've not impressed.

Tommy Oar could get chance to push credentials against All Whites

May 22, 2010
Teenage Socceroo Tommy Oar may get the chance to force his way onto the World Cup plane, with a role looming in Australia's friendly against New Zealand at the MCG on Monday night.

Those clamouring for the jet-like 18-year-old to be elevated into the World Cup squad would have had their hopes buoyed with his efforts during a spirited practice match at the Socceroos' Melbourne training camp on Saturday.

He spent an extended part of the match playing in what appeared close to Verbeek's best available 11 - though injury concerns forced Harry Kewell, Josh Kennedy, Mark Schwarzer and Tim Cahill to sit out the game.

And the flashes of fullback-beating brilliance he unleashed in his international debut against Indonesia in Brisbane in March were on display.

While Oar could well be overlooked for the final 23 for South Africa given his lack of seasoning, Verbeek looks keen to see whether the youngster can cope with big-match pressure against the All Whites.

The youngster has also got a tick from Australia's 2006 bolter Luke Wilkshire, who believes there is an opportunity for players like Oar to make a World Cup mark like he did four years before.

"There's an opportunity for the young boys that are pushing now, showing good form and a lot of confidence," said Wilkshire.

"They've got to work hard, wait for their opportunity and the World Cup is the biggest stage of all and for people to make their name.

"There's a few of them - (striker Nikita) Rukavytsya, Tommy Oar's bolted from nowhere over the last six to eight months.

"It's up to them to show they're worthy of their place in the squad and obviously the boss will have the final call on that."

Verbeek is set to rest Scott Chipperfield from the New Zealand match.

His left-sided defensive understudy David Carney was given an extended run with the first-choice side during Saturday's practice game.

Chipperfield, 34, has come off an exhaustive series of 16 matches in a 10-week period as his Swiss club FC Basel secured the domestic league-cup double.

Kewell, who did not train at all because of his groin problem, and Schwarzer - restricted to light running after a minor thumb injury - won't play against the All Whites.

Uncapped goalkeeper Adam Federici, who plays for English championship side Reading, looms as Schwarzer's likely replacement.

Yeah I would have thought Lowry over Carney as well?
maybe Carney is on the fringe right now though.
As for Kewell's replacement obviously Rukavysta should be the first to figure.
He needs to prove himself. Oar I don't think is in serious contention for the WC 23.

I'd go if it wasn't on monday night people have work and School the next day. However it does matter who they're playing a majority of people arent 'loyal' supporters and they want to see high quality matches.

Guys it shouldnt matter who your team is playing. If your a loyal supporter then you should be going to every match possible, no matter who the oppostion. I went and watched SMFC play in the hellenic cup against teams that were playing in and around the 4th and 5th tiers of Victorian Football.

What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Roos Minus Key Trio For Kiwi Clash?
THE Socceroos look destined to head into Monday's friendly against New Zealand at the MCG without first-choice trio Scott Chipperfield, Harry Kewell and Mark Schwarzer.

Have your say.
