Etoo successfully converts the penalty for his 2nd goal of the tournament and gives Japan a glimmer of hope of making it through to the next stage.

Interesting situation here. If Cameroon can get one more and beat Netherlands 2-1 and Japan can snatch another one and win 3-0 then Japan go through on top on GD:lol:

I'll also feel more comfortable of seeing Paraguay going through against japan. In saying that Denmarks game is just getting no where - and then there's a penalty. if they can't get it in.. UNLUCKY lol

Penalty Denmark. Clear push in the back on Agger.
A chance for Jon Dahl Tomasson to finally after 2 years break the national goalscoring record.
Shit penalty, keeper saves but Tomasson puts in the rebound.
He finally gets the record.
A very interesting last 10 minutes now.

good save but luckily for denmark he followed through. Can't see them getting 2 goals within the time left.

You ALWAYS knew he was going to miss that. He seems to have completely forgotten how to finish.
Lucky he got the rebound.
Game on! Though I dont think they'll get two in the next 10mins.

I wouldn't put it past them against Portugal in the qualifiers they scored 3 goals in 8 mins to win 3-2. Edited by sydneycroatia58: 25/6/2010 06:12:58 AM

Surprisingly drab first half of Brazil-Portugal - LOTS of yellows. Felipe Melo yanked before half-time by Dunga, he'd lost his shit and almost got a second yellow about 3 minutes after his first.

Second half has started a lot more positively, Portugal looking to get forward a little bit more. Just brought Simao on as well

Ivory Coast up 2-0 at half time with 2 goals in a couple of minutes from Yaya Toure and Romaric nodding in a goal from a Drogba shot off the bar.

If Raul Meireles had a left foot Portugal would be 1-0 up right now.

If any team had the slightest desire to win this game we would have had a goal by now.

Really getting fucking sick of this bullshit from Ronaldo. When will he learn he's not going to score from 40 yards out. He hit the post in his first game that's it. Eveery shot he has either goes flying over the bar or way fucking wide.
He's having such a shit World Cup and yet again another player fails to live up to the hype at a WC. We had Ronaldinho fail to live up to the hype in 2006 and 2010 is Ronaldo.

Zelic just made a good point. Torsten Frings in 2006 got suspended by FIFA for slapping an Argentinian player and missed the semi against Italy yet FIFA review the evidence against David Villa when he clearly slapped a Honduran player and he gets off scot free.
Oh how FIFA love double standards.

Some quite brilliant play there from Chile as Gonzalez misses a golden opportunity with the Spanish defence at 6s and 7s.
It's so good to see Spain not dominating and Chile not sitting back and really taking the game to Spain. This could be interesting.
