Great play by the Chile #15, Jean Beausejour, at about 9 mins, backheel then great run to set the cross.

It's so good to see Spain not dominating and Chile not sitting back and really taking the game to Spain. This could be interesting.

It's like an actual football game for a change, isn't it? Hell, it almost even sounded like one for for a bit there.

The Chilean fans are excellent.

It's an actual football match not a training run like Spain's other matches were.

This ref is getting a bit card happy it worries me a bit, especially when he was the one who sent off Cahill.

Ponce especially lucky there not to be sent off, seen them given red for less.

David Villa gets extremely lucky with the keeper coming so far out for no reason and Villa lobs it in to an open net from 35 yards.

The defender was gonna end up goalside of Torres, looks like one to show the kids about when to not go off your line!

Some people would call that a brilliant goal. I call it luck. He's shooting at an open goal he should score. It's not some brilliant piece of skill(like his first against Honduras) just a mistake by the keeper.

Sure, but half a striker's job is to take advantages of the defence's mistakes.

Another fucking disgraceful refereeing decision. Torres trips over his own feet and Estrada gets sent off. Just fucking ridiculous.

First this guy sends off Timmy against Germany and now this. How the fuck does he get the gig.

No contact whatsoever. Torres actually tripped over his own feet. Estrada was just unlucky that he was running past Torres as he went down and the ref assumed he tripped him and gave him a second yellow.

Also David Villa with his goal becoms the first Spaniard to score 10 goals in major championships with 6 in the World Cup and 4 in the European Championships.

That takes him to 41 international goals just 3 behind Raul's record of 44.

Saw those replays. God damn.

I'd say let's see what happens if they bring in video suspensions for diving in the WC, never gonna happen though.

That card happy fucktard. One promising game ruined tonight by no one wanting to play, the other by a Mexican throwing cards around like confetti. And it all sounds like it's in a beehive. How depressing.

Half time. It's 0-0 at the other game, if it stays this way both Chile and Spain go through with Spain winning the group on GD and facing Potugual and Chile get Brazil (without at least 3 Chileans thanks to cards in this game).

Course if the Swiss win then they get through on GD and Chile can go home as one one of the only teams that came to play and with fuck all to show for it.

Call me a cynic.

At this moment in time Honduras are the only side to no have a goal or a point to show for their World Cup. The last teams to leave the World Cup without a point and a goal were Saudi Arabia and China in 2002.

I hope they go out and attack this second half and get a draw and Switzerland win because I really don't want Spain to make it.

This is the first time in the last 15 World Cup matches featuring CONMEBOL teams that they have been trailing. They are still collectively unbeaten.

I don't know if I want them to loose, they were my (and everyone else's) pick to win the thing after all. Just hate to see Chile go out arguably thanks to the same muppet we did.

I said on another thread I was going to wait for this game to reassess my opinion on Spain's chances, but again to blame the ref he's spoilt the sample :p

Although the consistently terrible performance of this ref puts our (the Socceroos) loss in a different light, don't know if it's too late for many commentators/posters to pick up on.
