I think you'd be surprised at Kennedys ability to beat opponents. Even Vidic. I wonder how well he'll do?

I think Kennedy will take some of the better defenders with him which will allow others the opportunity to score goals.
That's if we can get the ball into the box (tongue in cheek)

Ruka is only fast in some leagues put him in the worlds top leagues and hes slow compared to the playrs there. He just seems fast against mediocre opponents

I'll be focussing on Vidic then throughout the entire match. Seeing if he's as good as advertised.

Dammit didn't see your post. I agree 100%, in fact I wouldn't be suprised to see Kewell or possibly Ruka start that game as Vidic's one weakness is on the floor with a pacey or skillful forward.

Mate I thinks that's Pim's plan anyway, have the midfielders coming through off the forwards. That will be where the goals will come from.

As far as Serbia goes Josh will struggle against Vidic, He is one of the best defenders in the world and is an absolute monster in the air.

Josh will find it hardest to score against Serbia up against Vidic. Although Josh is taller Vidic will still win every header and wouldn't surprise me to see Josh be totally nullified in that game.

While I'm hopeful my favourite player will score against the Germans, I think the Germans will have him covered. I'm thinking the Pim will be aware of this and will have other players such as Cahill to be on stand-by to poach a few goals, getting the deflections.

At best, I think Jesus will draw attention away from other players during the German game.

I'm more hopeful against Ghana and Serbia for Josh to score.

Looking at wikipedia, looks like Ghana have a standout tall defender also. Isaac Vorsah.

There a tinkering in the formation but it certainly didn't change to a 442, the main difference was that the whole team pushed up in the second, particularly the midfield which meant our forward wasn't isolated.

No he didn't. Holman played behind Macca. And Culina got forward because he was playing RM.

onthefence, Pim changed to a 442 in the second half against NZ with Holman and Mac up front. That was why culina was able to drive forward so much.

Ideally I'd like to see Ruka upfront with Kewell playing just off him, but that'll never happen with Pim in charge. We will be stuck with Kennedy upfront and Serbia collecting a clean sheet.

Was being (ever so slightly) facetious with the Vidic comment. Of course Kennedy is going to be shut out. Better chance of Ruka burning him for pace realistically.

the only game Kennedy should start as lone striker is against Ghana, although should we need a win against serbia, surely Pim will give in and play a front two (probably with a back three and wing backs, i doubt Pim is one to play 4-4-2? although I could be wrong...) and Kennedy should start there as well (with Kewell).

Nemanja Vidic is the guy who is going to shut out Kennedy. Seriously putting Kennedy up against Vidic is the biggest mistake Pim could make. Vidic will win every header and Kennedy will have no effect. The way to beat Serbia is not by hoofing balls into the box it's about keeping the ball on the ground and stretch the back four. Of course that won't matter to Pim who will stick Kennedy upfront once again when we need a win.

If he gets quality ball he will bury any team.

German will know all about Kennedy already from his time in the leagues over there.

He could cause any team problems on his day, just depends which Josh turns up.

We're pretty boned against Germany anyway, i'm guessing this is more about scraping a win against Serbia (who is Nemanja Vidic anyway?) or (more likely) Ghana.

Mertesacker has him covered for height and everything else.
Macca cleaning up scraps around his feet however could have worked a treat. That's it, I'm off to play FIFA10 to live out my management fantasies (stupid Pim)

if Harry crumbles we will be relying on Josh a lot more, I've got a feeling he will score. Him and Holman to score 1 each!

Kennedy must start up front with Cahill Kewell and Bresh behind him. For me thats the right option

He'll suprise the German's, he can actually score with his feet now.
