As long as its not completely ruined by an overzealous police and security force then fine. but sometimes they just take the fun out of it. seeing the cops at the SFS just capsicum spray some guy in the face for no apparent reason is really horrifying. sorry. Still find it really annoying how this is front page news but every time canterbury bulldogs play nothing is said of crowd violence. What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Roo Fans Warned To Behave? SOCCEROOS fans watching at the outdoor site in Sydney have been warned that dodgy decisions or poor performances in South Africa will be no excuse for loutish behaviour at home.Have your say.

The starting times in Sydney are 9:30pm, midnight and 4:30am for most LIVE games. I guess if you're going to be a fan and brave the chilly night air for the midnight and 4:30am starts (Aust has 2 x 4:30am starts and one midnight one) rather than the warmth of one's living room, then it is just a measure of security that you would want especially if you're out with friends and family.

I can't see it working. I don't think they thought i through properly. I went down on Tuesday to have a nosey around, and there's barely any room whatsoever. cause theres so much construction work going on and around the joint (theres a 13 storey carpark being built where the old SEGA World building used to be) they've blocked off access from the information centre onwards. They've demolished the mini lake with the paddleboats, and it's all construction site untill Tumberlong Park. They would have been better off putting it in The Domain.
WOLLONGONG WOLVES FOR A-LEAGUE EXPANSION!

haven't checked it out yet. might go have a look see tomorrow. hopefully it can do justice to my euro 2004 memories when I was over there. 2006 was a lot of fun but wasn't really amongst it all at the time but thats downplaying the awesome fightback in the japan games etc.
haha I would have been down the northbridge plaza way had this sydney journey not been a spur of a moment thing.

Typical.
No article telling people what's going on there and how much fun it will be.
Only a negative story trying to tell everyone that all football fans are hooligans.

I agree with you egg. whats the deal with it. There's no advertising or flyers about the event or anything. it is quite tame. I went to the site a few days ago and they still had a lot of coming soon things on there. 2 weeks ago, it was bare.
From what I saw on the website not to long ago it seems very corporate and expensive... I know it wont be as i've heard there will be big screens for the public.
A few people i've spoken about the football, people are surprised there's something happening there or they have VIP tickets that you can't even get publically. bleh whatever
Im looking forward to a few drinks and getting amongst the fans in the cold.

You can thank the Greek Australians that kicked the shit out of several shop windows and taxis after Australia beat Greece in the farewell game last time.
