Ressurecting the Champ - 7/10
I went into this film with a very low expectation because I've never heard of it before and never heard Samuel L Jackson's work in it being credited. But to my surprise, it was quite decent and had some touching moments in it.

Quote:Imagine a giant, flashing red neon sign. Imagine that it reads “Rumour”. Now imagine it over Keanu Reeves’ head. Yes, the man who sparked more than one Internet meme recently has just launched a torrent of Matrix speculation after the comments he made at an event in London, ostensibly to promote his latest film, Henry’s Crime.
After jawing about other projects he has in the pipeline (including 47 Ronin and some nicely positive movement towards a third Bill & Ted outing), he switched tracks and talked up a meeting he had with Matrix creators the Wachowskis, noting that they had completed work on a two-film treatment that would follow the continuing adventures of Neo.
And not only that, but the writing/directing pair apparently met with James Cameron to talk about the scope and drawbacks of 3D, since they’re planning, according to Ain’t It Cool News’ scooper, to “deliver something which has never been seen, again.”
For his part, Reeves feels he has an obligation to deliver a film worthy enough to stand with to the original and that the Wachowskis’ ideas are revolutionary.
So what’s stopping them ringing up Warner Bros. and getting some support for this? Well, they’re a little bit busy preparing to work on Cloud Atlas with director Tom Tykwer and stars Tom Hanks, Halle Berry and Natalie Portman and have other scripts floating about to consider.
Even if they did go back into the world of the Matrix, they’re going to have to be careful to produce something good enough to wipe our memories of Reloaded and (in particular) Revolutions. Will this happen? Who knows? It’s not like Reeves is an unnamed “insider” who has no access to Lana and Andy Wachowski, so chances are he has more knowledge about such things than most. But until some more official info happens along, don’t forget that big, red flashing neon rumour sign…

Zac Snyder's Dawn of the Dead. Hands down
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Quarantine was a direct remake of a Spanish movie called Rec, which is the scariest and most well made judging on its budget movie I've ever seen. 28 Days & Weeks Later are also fantastic.

I keep needing to see Rec. Everyone tells me its awesome, and what I've read about it sounds great. Might download it tonight. Have you seen the sequels?

Didn't know there were any sequels but the plot seems good enough to go on with. Have you seen em?

I decided to watch American Psycho as well. Was reading about the production. Apparently Christian Bale developed the character from watching Tom Cruise's interraction in several interviews. I found that to be highly amusing.

I've seen it before and I'm a big fan of the movie. I just decided I wanted to watch it again after reading Bale's comments about how he modelled Bateman around Tom Cruise's David Letterman interview...I actually went back and watched the interview too. It definitely shows how sinister Tom Cruise is.

I'm interested in the connection you've mentioned - do you have a link to the specific Letterman interview ?

I'm interested in the connection you've mentioned - do you have a link to the specific Letterman interview ? Just the structuring of the movie and the character development of Bateman, showing him slowly going around the twist is fantastic. His obsession with 80's pop music is what makes the character for mine. I'll never look at Huey Lewis in the same way. It's a fantastic movie to analyse, especially psychologically looking at the yuppie culture and materialism. I can't find the period interview that I watched the other night, but here's a good example from '06, almost 10 years later and you can still pick the same points. Pay attention to when he smiles, not when he's laughing. And you can even hear the selection of words that he emphasises in each sentence, he talks in the same way that Bale's sculpting of Bateman did. There's a lot more movement of the eyebrows and inflection than early Cruise though. This Interview from just after he released Top Gun shows the aforementioned smile as well. But it becomes more noticable in the late 90's (97-) when we first got a hint of him going insane as his marriage with Nicole Kidman got choppy.

I think censorship played a big part in the graphic nature of the movie. I think it was fairly tame compared to some movies.

Saw 'The Last 3 Days' today. Aside from some completely unrealistic touches, I quite enjoyed it.

All of you watch Party Down. Holy shit best new show since Dexter (ironic since it's been cancelled in the US already)
