I watched Thor, it was much better than I thought it would be. I didn't really like the ending though, cause they left it far too open for a sequel to be made. Chris Hemsworth was nice to look at though =p~

ozboy wrote:I found antichrist tedious & constantly repeated the same point. Interesting take on mental illness though. Antichrist's biggest problem was the dialogue drawing things out. It would have been better as a short film. It wasn't a bad film if you fast-forwarded  I liked the concept and the approach, it just didn't flow the way they'd hoped because of the prolonged dialogue, which didn't work wtih the lack of characrter development at the start of the film.

Anyone seen 'Enter The Void' by Gaspar Noe (same director of Irreversible)? Seen comments from 'brilliant' to 'an absolute let down'

Yes. I absolutely loved it. It's a very divisive film that you really have to be in the right mindset in to watch. If you want a strong narrative, then it's not the film for you. If you want an abstract, hypnotic, visually stimulating and shocking experience then it's definitely one to see. It probably works best if you're on acid or something, but I haven't tried that. I think that would be terrifying.

Can confirm Dobby's death is better in the book than in the movie. Still cried though, that bloke was a champion
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Quote:Former Playboy playmate Yvette Vickers died alone, her body undiscovered for months From: AP May 04, 2011 FORMER Playboy playmate and B-movie actress Yvette Vickers kept to herself and tended her flowers on a quiet, tree-lined street perched above Beverly Hills that actors, producers and writers call home. So it came as a shock when neighbors learned a badly decomposing body had been inside the home for several months to a year. ''There is a feeling of safety on this street,'' said Terri Cheney, an author and entertainment attorney who has lived there since 1994. ''You don't feel like that would happen here - someone being neglected like that.'' It was still unknown if it was the body of Vickers, who appeared in ''Attack of the 50 Foot Woman,'' ''Attack of the Giant Leeches'' and other cult films of the 1950s. It could take a week to determine the identity, coroner's Lt. Cheryl MacWillie said Tuesday. By the looks of Vickers' one-bedroom home, it might have been difficult to detect anything unusual had happened inside. The two-story, brown dwelling is rustic and sits next to two modern homes that dwarf it. Ivy and bougainvillea are draped on a front window, and the grounds on a steep hillside are overgrown with foliage. A handwritten note at the front gate reads: ``Deliveries, please ring doorbell.'' Guests had to climb a stone walkway that wrapped around the house. Cheney, 51, said she didn't know Vickers had been an actress or was a Playboy magazine playmate in July 1959. Cheney only said hello to Vickers a few times and noticed the woman liked to water her flowers. ''She seemed lovely,'' Cheney said. ''She went with the house, it was a little bit unusual. It has a fairy-tale kind of charm to it.'' Another neighbor, Susan Savage, told the Los Angeles Times she saw letters and cobwebs in Vickers' mailbox before going into the house and discovering the body last week in an upstairs room with a small space heater that was turned on. Savage described her neighbour as an elegant woman with flowing blond hair and warm smile. ''She kept to herself, had friends and seemed like a very independent spirit,'' Savage said. ''To the end, she still got cards and letters from all over the world requesting photos and still wanting to be her friend.'' Born Yvette Vedder on Aug. 26, 1928, in Kansas City, Mo., she attended the University of California, Los Angeles, before discovering acting and leaving school to pursue it. Her first film role was as a giggling girl in ''Sunset Boulevard'' in 1950. In 1957, she appeared in the James Cagney-directed, ''Short Cut to Hell,'' but it flopped and she turned to B-movies. It wasn't immediately known if Vickers had any relatives. http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/world/former-playboy-playmate-yvette-vickers-died-alone-her-body-undiscovered-for-months/story-e6frg6so-1226049670214

What did people think of the movie 'Moon'? I read that it is existential in nature

Interesting take on mental illness though. It takes a fair bit for a movie to be a thought provoking. Sorry for the elitist standards...

The Road is good. Do not watch it expecting anything lighthearted or Hollywood, you will be very dissapointed if so

While on the subject of Moon, it's director (Davd Bowie's son) has done Source Code, which has been getting good reviews.

Haven't seen Moon properly, but it looked decent from what I saw. One of those movies where you have to be a fan of that style to enjoy it I think. Source Code looks awesome though.

I read The Road recently actually, haven't seen the film. Great read if very bleak and depressing. I did find myself annoyed by Cormac McCarthy's prose, which added unnecessary confusion. Certainly worth reading though.

Watched Brick for media. Good noir film. Joseph Gordon-Levitt is a top actor. Very complicated, but if yopu pay attention you are rewarded.

On first watching, its kinda hard to find everything i need in my assessment. And I don't have time to re-watch.
