Fredsta wrote:About to go and see The Hangover 2 in a fittingly hungover state WIN... saw it on thursday with pretty low expectations after reading some reviews... wasn't as bad as they made out but still i was abit disappointed considering they pretty much stuck to the exact template and rhythm... like the running times of the two movies are about 2 minutes apart, would have been crap without Brad Cooper & Zach G comic timing and how they worked off each other

Order of favourite Saw movies: 1 3 (if this had have been the first one ever made, it would have been better than 1) 4 (out of all them, your head is doing the most mental gymnastics)
(some distance, then...)
6 2 (having just watched it again, you realise how poor the storyline was) 5 7

Yeah, that's about the order that I'd use SAW movies to wipe my arse. Quote:I love that I will never have to sit down and watch a movie with ozboy +fuckinglots. Watched Black Knight again for the first time since I first saw it...tbh, It's actually REALLY corny in many regards.

For European re-makes, Brothers was up there. It looks pretty fucking good. But then that could just be because I'm a Reznor fanboy. There's definitely potential there.

You'd have to ask Disney about that one.

I'm more concerned with it being absolute drivel. I'm going out tomorrow night with a bird and I need something to do...
...I don't mind missing the ending, if you know what I mean...but yeah, I'd be annoyed at giving Abrams more money if it's as fucking pointless as Cloverfield.

X-Men was better imo.
Supa 8 had some good moments, it is better than Cloverfield, but the story line is a bit meh(goonies meets Cloverfield) and there is an obvious goof at the end of the movie.

Looks amazing, no doubt... but the bar was set VERY high with the original movie. I can't say I'm a huge fan of Daniel Craig, which automatically counts against the remake. You're right, the original was excellent, but with a run time of over two and a half hours, there were certain parts that became hard to stomach and seemed to drag on. That said, I can't say an awful lot bad about the film. Back at the remake again, David Fincher is a very hit and miss director but he's in good form at the moment and I think he'll ultimately determine whether the film is a hit or not.

Quote:Movie-goers walking out of Snowtown distressed, another fainted Catherine Lambert From: Sunday Herald Sun June 11, 2011 SHOCK Australian film Snowtown is becoming a health risk for some audience members. The film that follows Australia's most notorious serial killer John Bunting is critically acclaimed, but has also caused an unprecedented range of negative reactions at Carlton's Cinema Nova. One woman fainted while watching it a couple of weeks ago and had to be attended to by ambulance officers. Cinema Nova general manager Kristian Connelly said about 20 people exit the film in distress a week. "It's certainly very rare for people to walk out of a film because it's too much for them, and I haven't seen an Australian film before cause this type of reaction," Mr Connelly said. "People usually walk out because they're bored, but this film makes people dash to the exit doors. They can't even cover their eyes or block their ears. They just want to leave and not return." Mr Connelly said scenes inferring animal cruelty caused the most extreme audience reactions. "A scene where it is suggested that a dog is about to be killed has caused the most consistent amount of people leaving the theatre, and yet the film has been particularly successful here at Nova," he said. The film has made $574,000 at the box office despite being on only 24 screens around Australia. In contrast X-Men First Class made $4.7 million but it is on 415 screens. http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/more-news/snowtown-movie-making-people-sick/story-fn7x8me2-1226073599279

People walked out of and fainted during Wolf Creek, nothing new What I find funny is the people who turn up at cinemas and randomly choose a movie based on the posters. Then a half hour later you see them waking out because they didn't realise how intense a horror/thriller can get... Anyway, good on the PR team for Snowtown. The news report will help sell more tickets
