Watched the 300 trailer twice now, never seen so much slow motion in my life, 0 excitement for it tbh

It's a big, dumb popcorn flick. Don't expect to go in and witness a masterpiece, you watch it to be entertained for an hour and a half.

so didn't end up going to watch the great gatsby the other night. the mrs was sick so we stayed home and watched a movie she was given for her bday.

which leads me to.. i watched wreck it ralph. absolutely loved it

To get around uploaded youtube movies being wiped by studios, users are now giving them a totally unrelated name and starting with, say, a minute of unrelated video.

Has this movie got the typical Tarantino self-flagellating dialogue?
Didn't like Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and From Dusk Til Dawn for this reason, hence avoid his movies.

The actions of the main character at the end is convenient to make the movie 'work' and not in keeping with his personality/character type prior.
Its still a great movie.

Looking at some of the early reviews for Superman, very underwhelmed.

That almost goes without saying for Superman movies. It'd be almost impossible for a Superman film to live up to expectations.

Get this one:

That's brutal as. Zack Snyder is a good director but the Superman franchise is a poisoned chalice.

Saw 'Flight' last night and loved it, Denzel Washington is absolutely sensational.

I've read some World War Z reviews, and they're surprisingly positive.

By all accounts it sounds like a decent zombie flick... I just wish it wasn't called World War Z so that there was room for a HBO miniseries or something that followed the book.

I think Max Brooks has said something along the lines of "The movie is similar to the book only in name"

It apparently follows similar kind of story-telling style as the book. Pitt indicated in one interview that there could be a sequel.

Watched Welcome to The Punch last night. Decent police drama, better than most. Willing to watch anything with Mark Strong in it and decent performances from him and McEvoy but unfortunately not enough to rectify the poorly written characters. Not something I'd watch again soon but enjoyable nonetheless.

Saw a few clips when they interviewed Seth Rogan on The Project. Not sure why he's out here promoting a film that doesn't come out for another month, but it looks quality.

The first film was enjoyable, but I prefered the LOTR movies. I think the fact that in terms of chronology, the hobbit came before LOTR; and now the moves are after are killing it for me.

That and they're using way too much cgi.

I'm just enjoying them for what they are. Jackson wanted to make 2 films, he was told to make 3 iirc.

So are they pretty much filling up the 3rd movie completely with the battle of the five armies? because they have pretty much used up most of the book in the first 2 movies by the looks of that trailer
