SPOILER ALERT (ISH)

Why is Charles alive in the future?! He's disintegrated in the 'The last stand'. I realise that In the credits of 'The Last Stand' they hint that Eric may still have his powers in some form, and that Charles may exist in another body, but they don't justify why they are alive in the future

Edited by eastern glory: 30/5/2014 09:38:18 AM

Use

tags brah :P

But yeah that is true, I have forgotten most of X3, should probably go re-do that.

Prolly shouldn't of had so many different actors for Stryker either haha.

Keen for Apocalypse though, can only assume Phoenix will become very integral.

-PB

Yes!

That scene in the credits was glorious too =p~

Watching people struggle with the idea that X1, X2 and X3 don't exist anymore so to speak has been quite enjoyable

As for Charles, in X3 he mentions that he can throw his consciousness into another person, which is shown in the post credits scene with him talking to Moira in what is, according to Brett Ratner, his identical brothers body.

Edited by sydneycroatia58: 30/5/2014 01:27:14 PM

What do you mean? X 1, 2 and 3 all lead upto the most recent one...

And yes he can move his consciousness, but that doesn't explain why he is still alive as Charles

I am just repeating what Brett Ratner said  Obviously it requires a logical leap, but it wouldn't be a comic book movie without it

As I said to EG on facebook, the reason X1, 2 and 3 are now considered irrelevant or don't exist essentially is because of the new timeline created at the end of Days of Future Past. They've gone the classic comic book trick of basically rebooting a whole universe so now the only movies that really matter, in this current universe at least, are First Class, DoFP and parts of Wolverine. In this new timeline Dark Phoenix never happened so Scott, Charles and Jean never die. It is what makes X-Men the most comic booky comic book movie above everything else

Yep, but that that still doesn't explain how in the future, at the beginning of the movie, Charles is alive and Eric has his powers. Very frustrating.

Not a bad movie. Isiah Washington plays his character well, and Tequan Richmond is OK as his adopted son. It's certainly not a fast moving film, quite dark, and slow. Whilst it doesn't focus entirely on the actual sniper shootings themselves (there's a few scenes towards the end of the film) it's more about the psychological build up before the shootings, and an explanation of the mental state of 'John' and why he committed them.

Saw it today. Really liked the storyline in it , something different with good CGI

Just thinking, when Cruise and Blunt were getting close to the omega in that facility in Paris,
couldn't the Omega have just killed the Alpha and reset time again?
Saw EoT today. Was blown away by how good it was, far better than X-men or Godzilla. I thought Cruise was good (once again), and he gets alot of undeserved stick. Oh and Emily Blunt was  If I was Cage, I would've killed myself over and over to see her rising sweatily off the ground in that yoga pose.

Thought the ending was a bit of a cop out, albeit very confusing:
I don't understand why Cage woke up when he did.

He kills the Omega a few hours before the invasion is set to begin, yet he wakes up a day or two earlier than that?
aufc_ole wrote:
Maybe it wouldn't work because the Omega would be the one with that power - it would inadvertently have to live the same day over and over again until Cage didn't even come to Paris?
.
It was because "we know from the opening of the film that Cage’s day originally started hours earlier, prior to his fateful meeting with General Brigham, when his helicopter arrived at UDF headquarters. If in fact time has adjusted to the death of the Mimics, then Cage avoids meeting with the General – since Operation Downfall is no longer necessary. For that reason, Cage would never have been marked a deserter, never been knocked out, and would have never awakened on the airport tarmac. As time anticipates and adjusts to the changes, Cage’s waking moment reverts to its original starting point – when the helicopter landed at the UDF.
Saw 'A million ways to die in the West' last night. Not bad, got some good laughs out of it. It's definitely not a movie to take seriously. But yeah, Seth Rogan is pretty good in it. Good for a laugh. Charlize Theron is stunning as per normal. South African chicks man. Definitely got a thing for 'em.

The rover
Dir david michod (animal kingdom)

Nihilistic film which explores into the concept of killing someone, in the way someone is violated in the act

Its the best film guy pearce has been in since the proposition
Unlike animal kingdom, David michod has made a distinctly uncommercial, difficult movie to understand, in terms of character motive. The only common ground between animal kingdom and this film is the violence

And robert Pattinson gives an amazing performance in his role, the character is hard to understand with the pronouncing of his lines, but he was convincing as the deranged character that tagged along. I wouldnt mind it if Pattinson did more roles like this

^ Basically the window between cinematic releases and dvd releases is set to be reduced in order to combat piracy

I feel that going to the movies is still an experience that cant be replicated on your tv or computer, regardless of turning off the lights in the house

Why do I feel this will make piracy worse lol. Means there will be HD rips of movies out even sooner.

Each trailer makes me more into it.

Looks great, really interested in this, and if it branches out into more cosmic Marvel stuff

Watched The Lego Movie last night, coincidentally as I was halfway through reading the book 1984. Is The Lego Movie meant to be a tribute/reference/etc to 1984, because man it felt like it was!

Crazy movie though. Couldn't look away for 10 seconds or you'd miss about 3 scene changes plus be about 30mins behind in the storyline  some pretty hilarious moments though, and much respect given to how awesome it looked.
