I watched the Man Of Steel the other week and was blown away by its awesomeness. In saying that I keep having people argue with me saying it's not as good as I think. what were all of your thoughts on it (CBF fishing back through 50 odd pages to find it).

I've also been following the Casting of Batman V Superman: Rise of Justice, is it just me or is this going to be some of the worst casting for a movie ever? also the idea of tying it in with both Arrow and Flash TV shows is a great idea. It's what Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D should have been doing with minor characters or characters that aren't big enough in their own right to be able to get their own movie. I.E introduce wasp or Giant in through TV to new Avengers role.

Gal Gadot as Wonderwoman

Jason Mamoa Aquaman

Saw this the other night, Fassbender was amazing in a role where we dont see his face

Its also a film that is a lot darker than they think, its a film which initially looks like a music film, but then it becomes a film about mental illness, and how it can consume musicians in the creative process

Went and saw How To Train Your Dragon 2 today. I absolutely loved it, it was as good as the first one in my books. Those 2 movies would have to be my favourite animated ones. The soundtrack was beautiful as well

I just found out they made a Green St Hooligans 3: Never Back down. Has anyone scene it? is it as terrible as the second one (I never saw it just figured it'd be terrible after the whole set in a prison playing for freedom idea) or does it get cred for being so bad it becomes good again?

Yeah I didn't subject myself to the second one either. A quick wiki search says it's a revenge movie with hooligans learning MMA, sounds putrid.

Because I needed to test myself before watching Trans4mers this weekend, I decided to watch Grown Ups 2. Just terrible. Didn't laugh once (Which is saying something, I am pretty close to the target demographic.). No redeeming qualities. Adam Sandler, stfu and gtfo

Calvary

Brendan Gleeson teams up with John Michael Mcdonagh again after the black comedy of the Guard, if anyone here bothers watching that :-k (because I know most guys here watch crap like Transformers *Lol at you for bothering with shit like that* )

Its not as funny as The Guard, one of the great dark comedies. A film which thrived on political incorrectness and inappropriateness. In fact Calvary is quite a bleak film

Yeah I quite like The Guard, I'm a fan of McDonagh's brothers movies and whilst it wasn't as enjoyable as In Bruges or Seven Psychopaths it still had much of the same feel on a much smaller budget, Gleeson doesn't usually disappoint either.

Under the Skin

One big mind f of a movie

Anyone who thinks the gap between tv and movies is closing, watch this film and compare it to a weekly serial like game of thrones, and tell me which one is better?

Granted game of thrones is better than a movie that came out in 1982 like Cat People or some horribly dated crap, but there will always be a massive difference between contemporary film and tv

Here is an interesting educational film from the year 1935->

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GHs2coAzLJ8

Its technically flawless, the dissolves, and cuts to juxtapose with the dialogue was something that was well ahead of its time

In many ways, films that Michael Bay makes are no different from what we see in this film

Really? Apart from our differing views on Movie 43, I thought you & I shared similar taste in comedic movies, judging by our posts. I loved 21 Jump Street!

It was unoriginal, lacked creativity and most importantly mocked heavily one of the defining TV shows of my youth. Plus who told Channing Tatum he could act? I didn't even believe him as a gimp in This is the End.
