Looks semi generic in terms of script etc but very keen for this Man on Fire-esque Denzel again, think it's a role he plays so very well. -PB

A friend recommended, so I watched The Call (with Halle Berry) last night. Far out it was suspenseful and I was just loving it. Shame that IMO the ending was poor - there were two ways, one in particular, I thought they could have ended it and it be near one of my favourite movies. Unreal.

Alright.... I love 21 Jump Street to death, but 22 JS was disappointing. Ice Cube was great but most if the other characters were flat out boring. I'd be willing to watch it again, but the disappointment was immense.

Was surprised though how much I enjoyed that movie, even though the ending was extremely weak Yeah, I did not expect to enjoy it so much
How I ideally thought they should have ended it was Halle Berry never goes out to the hills district they were at (fxxx it frustrated me when she did), that she gets another call from the girl and there's a heaps suspenseful scene where Berry is still in the Hive but the Cops are pretty close to being on their way to finding the trapdoor. Then I thought the bad guy should have killed the girl, all while Berry is listening, just before the cops arrived. The cops find the trapdoor, find the bad guy and the dead girl, and kill the bad guy. Then, Berry has a good cry and whatnot, but then after a bit of a silence she sees the 911 line light up again and she answers "911 where's your emergency" to show that the world fxxxing sucks, but that you've gotta keep on keepin' on, and that it just shows how important those operators are to the world. The other, weaker but better than the movie ending, was just for Berry to rescue the girl like she did, call the cops, they come and arrest and/or kill the bad guy, and Berry and the girl are seen in the last scene going into the movies together (like they set up earlier in the movie)
Went to JB HI-Fi yesterday afternoon and picked up a bunch of movies: - A few good men. Classic. Was $6. Had to buy - Boys of Abu Grahib. Posted the trailer up on here earlier, was going to download it via Itunes but it was the same price in JB but since I was in JB picked it up. - Ted. Never seen it. Been dying to see it. Know I'm going to like it - The Railway Man. Wanted to see it when it came out, never did. I've seen the trailer, I know I'm going to like it. I know the feels are going to hit me hard at the end. - Babel. Saw it WAAAAYYY back when it first came out. Was young, but I quite enjoyed it. I think I'll understand it better watching it a 2nd time round. One thing I remember is how well that bring the 4 stories together. - Anchorman 2. I remember kicking myself over not going to see it. Like Ted, I'm going to enjoy it. Like most people, I enjoyed Anchorman 1. Will post reviews when I get through each one.
WOLLONGONG WOLVES FOR A-LEAGUE EXPANSION!

Anchorman is one of my favourite movies and was quoted regularly amongst my group of mates throughout school and college but I really didn't like the sequel that much when I first saw it, I watched it again a few weeks a go and couldn't sit through it. Brick was good in small doses first time around but I found him unbearable in this. EDIT I loved Ted though, it's classic McFarlane comedy and worth watching for Mila Kunis alone. I watched The Grand Budapest Hotel last night and absolutely loved it, Ralph Fiennes is brilliant. Edited by fredsta: 7/7/2014 04:14:27 PM

Been sick the last 2 days so decided to watch the first 3 Transformers movies. As bad as the new one is it doesn't even come close to the shower of shit the 2nd one is. First one still far and away the best one.

Is it actually as bad as people are making it out to be? Yep. Basically 3 hours of nonsensical shit with product placement after product placement rammed into your face. Saw it today and agree. You could cut together a decent enough 90 minute movie out of it, but was really hard to sit through the whole thing. Worst Wahlberg has made 2 stinkers in 12 months, and I love the guy

Bay got so lazy with the 2nd one he didn't just re-use shots he used in the first movie but started re-using shots he'd already used earlier in the 2nd movie
No real surprise that the first one, the one Spielberg had a fair amount of control over, is the best one.

Went & watched 22 Jump Street last night. I really enjoyed it, and thought there were some jokes that held their weight on their own as they were too funny, but overall I thought 21 was way better still. There were a few times that I completely lost it with laughter, some jokes just hit me so hard, but it turned out the entire rest of the cinema, except for one other guy who seemed to have the same humour as me and was laughing with me, were quiet. These were (spoiler for the spoilers):
- The cube of ice office - Queen Latifah dropping the NWA line at the dinner table - Benny Hill
Those bits just hit me way, way too hard and I couldn't contain myself for just bursting with laughter
I'll definately be getting it for home, and I'll definately rewatch, but I doubt it will ever hit as good as 21 did for me.

That
Queen Latifah NWA line
made me fucking lose it . I then realised I was the only one laughing in the cinema and felt very ashamed for everyone else.

A few in my cinema laughed. I thought it was absolute brilliant  Also
the scene When Channing realised Jonah banged Ice Cubes daughter, I was gone, especially when he calmed down and tried to downplay his reaction
My son has gotten really into lego, especially starwars so we bought episode 4 to watch this weekend. The Machete order does look interesting though. Prob to advanced for a little kid so will go 4,5,6 - 1,2,3 with him.

It deserves a sequel but didn't do too well at the box office because of shitty marketing and forcing 3D onto people. Its done well on dvd/bluray sales though, so maybe it might one day get a sequel. (I have it on bluray)

I quite liked Dredd I just felt Mega City 1 was a bit to clean and lacked that Nuclear wasteland feel that it should have. It really does need a sequel to do it the justice it deserves as a story. I'd love to see them use Anderson's psych abilities on Death Judges.

-PB Oh yeah, it's like they didn't even try to hide it. Especially in the Hong Kong scenes.
