So i finally saw The Exorcist today.

Great movie, characters that you actually like, it actually felt real and that hell maybe this COULD actually happen. I really was genuinely creeped out due to how real everything felt and how even the priests didn't fully completely agree that she was possessed till the climax of the film,

Though there were a couple of moments that i found so absurd that it was funny. A 12 year girl screaming "Fuck me! Fuck me!"and "Shove it up your ass you faggot!" was straight out of xbox live with all the kids

It was just so funny to me how things have changed with time. That must have been extremely disturbing for people in 1973, but now just turn on the x box and you'll hear the same words from ten year olds within a few hours

But that masturbabtion scene though.

That wasn't funny.

Saw Hateful Eight last night, not bad, could have definitely done without certain things but I guess that's Tarantino's style.

Anyone seen The Revenant? It's complete shit, worst movie ive seen in years. Unless an actor crawling thru snow for 2 hours with half a page of dialogue in the entire movie is your thing.

Yeah I loved the story and the plot and even the slow pacing I felt was ok (however I didn't realise it was a 3 hour slog till I bought I got tickets farkkkk).

However it did feel like an atypical "3edgy5me" film where they took as many oppurtuninities to say the N word because its a movie so somehow that makes it ok?

I loved that Walton Goggins got to shine on the big screen, has been delivering killer roles with that southern drawl in Justified for years.

Yeah,it was just poor compared to Django and Inglorious Bastards.

He had a small role in Django too I think.

I liked it. I saw it in 70mm in Sydney and it was the best looking film I've ever seen.

He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

I saw Nightcrawler last night. It could very well be one of my favourite movies.
I thought it was a career defining performance from gyllenhaal, he was unbelievable and owned every scene.
It was also great to see bill paxton again, haven't seen a movie with him in it for awhile.

I thought some parts of the movie were a bit lame and let it down but Gyllenhall absolutely owned, such a top performance. Seeing him go from that role to his role in Southpaw within a year was another reminder of how good he is

The movie itself is nothing special, Gyllenhall is what makes it. He carries that movie.

It's an Oscar flick.

Not meant wholly as a swipe, it is a fine movie, but it's basically a by-the-numbers award flick.

- Sweeping panorama shots of pretty landscape
- Main actor exhibiting deep feels. Look at my emotions.
- Subtitles
- Long as heck
- Shallow, safe story based on known work or real events
- Very obvious symbolism but not like spelled out in neon letters so audiences can still feel a little smart for getting it
- Long as heck
- Bad guy who isn't a traditional big bad but instead everyday evil (so unsettling!)

I watched it and was entertained enough. I wouldn't call it a masterpiece, but it's a serviceable movie if you have two and a half hours to kill.

Leo DiCaprio is the best actor to never win an oscar.

Its about time if he wins one. It often happens not for their best role.

Leo is a good actor, but my god he is he so overrated and hyped by the internet.

He wasn't even the best actor in The Revenant, Tom Hardy was.

The Oscars are a joke anyway so he'll probably win.
