If it weren't for dodgy diagnosis and treatments on his injuries, and his illnesses, then he could have been one of those absolute iconic legends of the game.

It was auto-immune hepatitis which means his own immune system was attacking his liver causing inflammation.

When he was very young\:d/

it's an autoimmune disease, which means that the body's own immune system attacks its own cells- in this case the liver cells. i don't imagine taking the immuno-suppressants would be good for him- it leads to osteoporosis later in life :(

Better than and early death.

yup definitely choose osteoporosis over liver cirrhosis. i've seen liver cirrhosis patients, in the late stages it gets extremely painful and isn't pretty at all - almost makes me want to give up drinking :P almost.

There are much better Osteo treatments now, new class drugs.
