I said to my fiance, the best result in this game is 1-0 to Ghana, and I am glad that has come through.

We have to beat Ghana in the 2nd game to go through, and I reckon we can do it. Serbia will likely lose to Germany, and thus (if all goes to plan) they will be out/with little chance before playing Australia. Serbia is known for falling apart without a chance, and we should get past them without much problem in the 3rd game.

This was always going to give us the best chance going through, ideally we steal a point from Germany tonight, beat Ghana and then 4 points should be enough, even before we play Serbia.

agree with a lot of this. i reckon a draw would have been ideal, but this is a close second. assuming serbia lose to germany, their third game against us would most likely be for nothing. would increase our chances of getting a win if their heart's not in it. also, we were always going to need a win against ghana. the fact that they've won their first could potentially lead to complacency. finally, the fact that it was only one goal is positive in case it comes down to goal difference.

after a draw, this was defo the best outcome.

Draw would of been best, ohwell.

A draw would have kept both teams with a good change of going through. A win to Ghana restricts Serbia's chances, which is the benefit of it.

From here, our main focus is getting past Ghana and Serbia. Win both games, and we're going through (unless Ghana somehow beats Germany and goal differential goes against us).

This way, qualification is in our hands, and not pending on other results.

We are better than Ghana, we are 50-50 against Serbia, depending on the day and their chances. Without a chance to qualify, we have the inside lane vs Serbia.

Ghana I suppose. Seeing as we've never played against Serbia before.

If we lose to Germany tonight, next weeks game against Ghana is do or die. I'm confident we can get a good result against Ghana though. For once, hizztory is on our side.

Good & bad for us. Serbia are now missing another player and need to open up against Germany to get something. Lose and they're out which may mean less focus on our match.

Ghana will be walking on clouds ahead of our match. Will take a super effort to beat them.

Good or us IMO. Serbia will now go into their next game against Germany with no confidence and will make them a whole lot easier to beat in the 3rd game.

That's hoping we beat Ghana.

It's bad, isn't it?

Wouldn't it have been better if they had drawn?
