KA, outstanding. Sums it up really. Moore's pace is really glacial now... What do you think about the FourFourTwo blog Pim's unforgivable, indefensible chaos? My dad wasn't a big one for giving advice, and it always basically boiled down to "...do your best and don't do anything stupid." If only Pim's dad had given him the same advice. This morning's perf...Have your say.

The sad thing is, Pim will ride his horse off into the distance post this WC and wont have to question a soul for his ridiculous and farcical tactics. This man belongs in a circus.
Obviously thickheaded and didn't learn anything in his time working with Guus. Asshat to put it simply.

Absolutly 100% on the money, the most insighfull thing I have read all day. The issus have been bubbling away for a long time nw and have failed to be addressed. We have asked the questions over the last two years and recieved no answers, the result as we saw last night was as suspected.
I 100% agree the blame doesn't lay with the players it is all at the foot of Pim, the stupidity of last nights decisions are beyond belief.
Hopefully the boys can recover and Pim can wake up to himself, either way the former will get my full support, the latter will not

Craig Moore was not responsible for any of the goals scored by Germany. Lucas Neill was the weak link in the centre.

everyone was thinking this exact thing.
I appreciate Pim getting us to the WC and qualifying for Asia cup.
BUT i cant wait to see the end of him.
Rather than nuture some young players onto the world stage he has persisted with 34-35 year olds with waning pace and skill.
I really fear for what is to happen after the wc. We will be left with a gaping void in the national team,

Ironically Moore was probably not our worst defender I would lay the blame more (excuse the pun) on the whingeing Lucas Neil and the hopelessly outclassed Chipperfield. (sad indictment on the standard of the Swiss league where he is alleged to be a star).

If Grella does indeed have such a carefree attitude to losing the opening game in such pathetic fashion then perhaps he should be given an early exit from the Cup so he can return to his beloved Italy. One thing Pim has done is stock up on DM.
I want to see anger from the boys and a strong determination to win the remaining games, not this *shrugging* attitude.
Also seems as tho alot of expectation is placed on Kewell being our hero when its highly likely he'll do his groin walking onto the pitch.

This man belongs in a circus. +1 Should have been a clause in his contract that he couldn't negotiate a contract with a party other than the FFA until AFTER the World Cup. He's always come across as stoic, but since signing with Morocco, it has seemed to me to be more apathy plastered across his face. Quote:"Meanwhile Moore's leaden pace can now only be measured in geological terms." I LOLed. Edited by martyB: 15/6/2010 12:11:56 AM

pointed criticism should be directed at those in charge who were stupid enough to hire this fraud...along with the others
still these things should be put in context. an organized Australia would probably have lost 2-0 in any case. they are one of the minnows making up the numbers at this tournament. a lot of Australians dont seem to realize this.

pim said a couple of days before the game there wud be some surprises in his line-up. Well he got that right. it took eight cups of coffee to keep me up for this match and i was to depressed after the match to pass out. ironically i thought zeljko kalac was the only positive one after the match

It was a hire which wasn't the least bit ambitious at the time, it was the 'cheap option' when Advocaat turned us down.
I'd definitely take Advocaash ahead of Pim any day of the week - the guy may be a world class c**t but he's not a world class c**t who also happens to not be able to coach.
Saying that we 'would probably have lost 2-0 in any case' is just plain retarded. We come out with attacking intent and who knows what happens? We have players that are good enough to cause big nations difficulties and despite our documented problems were more than capable of a draw or win on a given day against Germany, Spain, Brazil, I don't care who. But the difference between 2006 and now is that Hiddink played all the danger men and caused other teams problems, where Pim just leaves them on the bench and introduces more defensive midfielders. It's a mentality and motivation issue, and neither one is right in this team.

Good article by KA, summarised the disaster quite nicely.
I'm not sure what was worse, the starting line up and crazy formation or the continual use of the off-side trap.
NO! Actually the mentality by Pim and Lucas that we were going to loose before the game started was probably the worst! Highly un-Australian (dare i say).

It really made me wish mcdonald was in the team.
I appreciate what iceman wrote about nurtuing youngsters at the world stage but then he goes on to say there's going to be a gaping void in the national team?
Pim did test out 100+ players in the team, young and old and the nurturing will come from the clubs they choose to ply their trade. I think pim did as much as he could with the youngsters he spotted.
I didn't think they were good enough this time around but they certainly will probably feature more if they work hard in the next few years.
Unlike other national teams we have in australia, its a lot harder to get these players together and train cohesively. I really hoped Pim had worked that out esp with the players that have had experience as teammates over the last few years. It just fell a part last night with the tactics he used. I'm hoping that does indeed change for ghana and we aren't run over so easily.

LIKE. A top summation Kevin. Tactically and technically inept and now we're on the brink of elimination. Like to see the Australian players put a bit more effort into thanking the fans as well.

(sad indictment on the standard of the Swiss league where he is alleged to be a star). I think Neill looked worse than Moore but in reality I think Moore's poor positioning left Neill having to defend against 2 or 3 players. They are both quite old and slow, but Neill is the captain and I think would play better alongside someone younger such as Beauchamp. As for Chipperfield, he plays as more of a left-sided midfielder or even a wide forward for Basel. He does not play in defence (I believe he's high up on Basel's all-time goalscoring list) and Pim plays him out of position at left-back. We should be playing Carney at left-back and Chipperfield at left-midfield.

Every man deserves a chance at redemption and I'm sorry boys, but Pim will be given that right over the next two games.
You have to hope that Lowy and Buckley come back home from South Africa with a new coaches' contract signed, sealed and delivered.

i dont agree that it was a 4-4-2 formation, he may have told someone that, but kevin is right,4-6-0, and the players arent to blame, PIM selected them,Arnold is way past his used by date, and a season in the A-League will expose him for what he is...............
Tell me anybody,if you were assistant to somebody imcompetant wouldnt you argue with them and fight for the correct plan/formation or resign in disgust???= no substance!!!!!!
