We got a LITTLE bit of a reality check from Germany.........hahahahaha

is that right, we beat serbia,and as long as a draw isnt realised by germany or ghana, we make it through

If Germany beat Ghana 3-0 we need a 2-0 win if they win 2-0 we need a 3-0 win. I'm pretty sure that works out.

Although If Ghana win all we need to do is win no matter what the margin is.

Of course the two games are played at the same time so every scenario will be going like crazy through peoples heads once a goal is scored.

We didn't get much in the last world Cup with officials either - Japan's goal, Merk's performance which appeared to give Brazil all they wanted, Poll's missing of rugby tackles, hand balls and yellow cards and then Grosso's tumble. Though we did benefit with the Kewell goal against croatia, Materazzi's harsh send off and maybe the Cahill tackle on Komano in the Japan game. However the ledger is firmly stacked against us thus far.

I think Germany will beat Ghana so it will probably be all in vain even if we do beat Serbia as i don't know where we will get 3 goals from unless torres can disguise himself as holman and cause vidic a host of problems. Who in our team looks like scoring a hatful ? Mind you i would love to be proven wrong.

Germany should really have scored a couple in that game but Podolski had a bad day

to be honest, I could see germany destroying ghana lets hope they win 4 or 5-0 or something. TBH if anyone can do it.. then all we need is a W against serbia. too easy... gulp.

Lol! If the ref decisions get evened up in this match we will be playing against 5 men and be given 5 penalties... No problems overcoming any goal difference problem there!

Germany will be pissed after their last result so hopefully they will smash Ghana. Think we will win 2-0

Ghana have been bloody ordinary. They have only scored from the spot, and we could have (perhaps should have) beaten them with 10 men. So if Germany play as we all know they can, I can see a few goals going past the Ghanaian keeper.

I have been trying to find information on how Fifa select refs for the big show, and have come accross these articles.

Let's hope the Aussies play it smart & disciplined, stay out of trouble & for once don't put themselves in a position where we are relying on the ref.

With Serbia's record of 2 deliberate handballs, and 2 spot kicks after 2 games (see the pattern), we may get a desicion to go our way this time.

Lets hope the aussies just shut the fuck up instead of questioning every fkn decision ( lookin at you skipper)
and maybe the ref might not go waving cards at us for sneezing.

Stop the whinging and complaining and cut out the excuses, just go out there and do it and then we can all get some sleep!!

Germany was rubbish against Serbia, Podolski only scores screamers against Australia. Ghana will be up for this game and will play better as they will not underestimate Germany how they did with the socceroos.

Stuff the unrealistic 4-0 Germany win idea. Ghana must win if not bye bye. Everyone still forgets the socceroos need to win still, they are not a free scoring team under verbeek. Will be a minor miracle if the socceroos get through, start praying!

It needs to be said. I reckon they should of said the same thing before the tournament. Aus don't want special treatment they just want even treatment. It is evident this is not the case.

Please god Ghana beat germany.

People criticising Australia's reaction to the red cards should contrast it with what the Brazillian, African and Ryan Nelson have all said. Australia have been quiet diplomatic about the whole thing considering they have been very costly. I suspect Australia are biting their tongues not to offend FIFA.

The last time Germany failed to make the second round of a World Cup they were playing under a Nazi flag. Do you really think there is any way they'll let that happen again, with their superstar team against those imposters from Ghana? Over their dead bodies!

Neither team can afford to lose as they risk being overtaken by either Serbia or Australia. Germany can't even afford to draw at risk of a Serbia win. This means that once Germany go ahead, which they will, Ghana will open up and leak goals like a sieve as they try in vain to breach the German defence. If Ghana win it will be a miracle, but rest assured that if the Germans win it will be by pleeeenty.

Australia have just got to take care of their business and I believe they can do that. They need to score first against Serbia, which will force the Serbs to open up (something they seem incapable of doing). Beauchamp should negate Zigic and I'm sure a plan is being developed to deal with Krasic, other than that Serbia are toothless. They also have poor discipline and are very likely to concede red cards or penalties if the game isn't going their way.

It will take a spirited performance from Australia but that's exactly what we'll get. I'm tipping a 2-0 win to Australia with a double from Cahill and Germany to totally outclass Ghana 3-0.

Do whatever must be done (short of aggro)
