Again with the Jesus nickname and bad Jesus pun, I hope he shaves and cuts his hair or would that be a bit fishy. What do you think about the FourFourTwo article Second Coming Of Jesus? GIANT Australian striker Josh Kennedy says he is ready to reclaim his place in the starting line-up and score the goals needed to take the Socceroos to the second round of the 2010 World Cup.Have your say.

I will believe Jesus has come when we win 3-0. We will need a miracle.

Come on Josh, show a bit of vigour ( without getting carded ) & get a few attempts on target, that should increase your chances of starting.

Josh shouldn't start against Serbia. He will be useless against Vidic who will beat him to every header. Ruka would be better to start. His pace will really unsettle Vidic.

Hardly 'baffling' that he hasn't been picked. His form in the friendlies was woeful, apart from a scrappy goal against Denmark.

Isn't Vidic on two yellows? Anyway Jesus can draw a red card off nasty Vidic. In any case we need to play 3-4-3 again. Win or die!!!!

Nup Vidic picked up his first yellow against Germany. Zigic was on a yellow going into the game against Germany was hoping he'd get another one and be out for the Australia game. I'd like us not to have to deal with him.

Well he did fairly well when he came off the bench against Ghana. And who do we have left to play as striker now? Cahill again? FMD

he's a 65 minute off the bench player. If he starts it will be long balls to his head-by Schwarzer-and Vidic and Ivanovic will love it. This when a Cahill and Mac attack would have been good. I'd Play Chippers up front on the left for 65 minutes.

Dont disagree with Ruka giving Vidic a hard time but it wouldnt be as a central striker, it would have to be wide on the left like Podolski, so that would mean Kennedy at the front with Ruka playing in Brersciano's spot, which wont happen.

With all the various permutations about how the Socceroos can collapse over the line ahead of the pack I haven't seen any calculations re a Germany and Ghana draw. In that scenario, I estimate that only an 8-0 whooping of Serbia by the Socceroos will account for the goal difference and get us to the next round. Now that really would require some divine intervention.

a draw for Germany and Ghana would be disasterous. We then need to win by 7+ goals which us very remote. So cross fingers toes, sacrifice a goat lets hope Ghana beat Germany or Germany smash Ghana by at least 3+ so we dont have to score as many over serbia. Beating Serbia is going to be bloody tough enough :-(

Hey Stefcep What happened to your Ghanian heroes? What a bunch of over rated dickheads whom you claimed would sweep all before them! Those guys couldn't score in a brothel!!

Beersandwich: does Jesus have the hand of God?
Well one's things certain, knowing our luck, he'd get a red card for it.

Up yours to all the tools who are bagging Kennedy. He's the second most prolific goalscorer in the team behind Cahill, and currently top scorer in the J-League (not that that's overly impressive). At least all you couch-coaches have given Holman a break.

The problem there is, how will he fit Cahill and Holman in too? :P He may opt for dropping Bresh again and putting Ruka on the left, but I doubt it. We're more likely to see Cahill up front with Holman behind. Which is silly. I hope he goes Ruka up top.

I think Serbia will find themselves very short of players after that Germany match..if they try to be physical...and if the ref doesn't give them a free ride.

People will say "oh but Holman can't play on the left". As far as I'm concerned if he's as hard working as everyone says he is he will find a way.
