I think the team has copped enough of a dressing down from fans now. They agreed the Germany was not good. They responded magnificently against Ghana. I think it is time for some unequivocal support for the guys. They have earned and deserve some respect. Harry worked for 6 months to get physically ready for the WC in ways we mortals could not fathom - and to have all that undone in 20 minutes - well it would leave me flat. I thought his expressions of disappointment about it immediately afterwards were quite appropriate. He was honest.

Neill you arent the only one, the aussie fans are just as bad at whinging as you.

So sick of all the negative comments towards the team, why cant we just support them to whatever end?

the media does this sort of shit stirring day in day out, slightly twisting whats being said and in what context,happens in the news,happens here,happens on radio, media are scum

Actually I belive comments from both Him and Pim were the reason for Australia's poor showing against Germany, fancy going into a match believing you cant win and telling the world that. Poor captaincy Poor Leadership. Now you have this little spat going when you should have accepted the reds and moved on in the first place.

The Telegraph sending a NRL jurno and self confessed soccer knocker Paul Kent to Africa to cover the Cup with negative storys is brilliant business. I have seen many interveiws with the boys and have seen nothing but respect for each other and the opposition.

The twisting of their comments to try and turn them into something like our arrigant cricket team is transparent to any one with a brain.

They are a class act and the other codes would kill to have them.

I wish people would wait till after the wc is over to stick the boot in. support for our national team should come first, they are there, they are the ones who are good enough to play there, none of us are good enough to play for australia, and the journalists certainly aren't. How many world cups did fozzy, or les play in?

same goes for the coach. pim has done what only two other aussie coaches have done before. Pay them respect till it is over then analyse it. this sniping at them does not help.

The players just want support from Australians. Is that too much too ask? Apparently it is for some.

Compared to other teams and coaches Aussies have been very diplomatic. I imagine the half wits will say differently to bring us down to their lowly level, but who cares!

Has everybody missed the point of this comment from Neill? Cahill complained about Australia copping a raw deal from refs, and then Frank Lowy stepped in and effectively told the squad to shut up because such "whinging" might damage his 2022 bid.

Personally, I see this comment from Neill as a defence of Cahill (and others) against Lowy's undue political influence.

I egree that we all need to support our boys. But whinging about not being whingers didnt need to be done. Concentrate on the bloody game!!

What ever happen to Aussies supporting the battlers and underdogs through thick and thin. I would hate to be in the trenches with some of these jurnos and radio shock jocks.

Lets face it the boys can't win. When they lose they are losers and when they do well they are losers.

If you are the team captain, are you going to let your best player cop shit from the head of the FFA???

No way! They should refuse to train before the game unless they get an apology from Frank Lowy himself! In fact, they should draw up a letter of complaint from the players, and hand it to Pim Verbeek so he can read it out to the press...

Missing the point. While he is at a press conference, even if it didnt take much to organise, he is not getting himself or his team-mates ready for a massivly important game. Defend your team-mates after the game. I dont care. But all we should be hearing from the boys is "how much we want to smash Serbia!!"
