just putting it out there... If you read "FA Confidential" by David Davies, Ex-Executive Director of the FA, you'd be surprised to hear (I was anyway) just how much power the English clubs have as compared to the FA and how they can easily rebuff approaches for their managers by the FA.

Sir Alex wouldn't want the job. Besides being too old and too set in his ways to change - he's Scottish and would hate the idea that success would equal the enemy doing well!!
They should have given the job to Hodgson in 1996, now they've got a chance to get it right.
