[size=6]France World Cup Winner Lilian Thuram Demands Captain Patrice Evra Be Banned From National Team[/size]

France legend Lilian Thuram has demanded skipper Patrice Evra be banned for life from the national team after the chaotic scenes at World Cup 2010.

Les Blues were dogged with controversy and rumours of in-fighting throughout the tournament. This came to a head when Nicolas Anelka was sent home for abusing then head coach Raymond Domenech at half-time during the group stage defeat to Mexico.

The following day, the squad all refused to train after the incident was reportedly revealed to the press by physio Marc Rohan, who Evra branded "a traitor." Senior members of the team, including the Manchester United defender and Barcelona left back Eric Abidal, were then excluded from the team's final group game and shock loss to South Africa.

Speaking to L'Equipe, Thuram - who is the most capped player in France's history - blasted Evra's behaviour and demanded he be excluded from the international set-up.

"I ask that the players are severely punished and Patrice Evra will not return ever for France," said Thuram.
