So there really is no excuse these days. Half of them give you US spelling though. I refuse to change my S's to Z's.

There's an add-on for FF though to give you Australian dictionary.

The textbook for Heat Transfer and question sheets we are given for tutorials and quiz's are full of spelling mistakes, grammatical errors and usually are missing a key sentence or two.

Nico wrote:Do you mean that's confirmed for the whole lineup? Or do you mean in the so far announced bands? If its the latter, I wouldn't of expected any different. So far, only the smaller bands have been announced really. Expect the big names (Maiden, Slayer, Blink, if their on the bill obviously) to be announced on Thursday. THIS. Majorly. Sorry to pick on you Nico, but nearly EVERYBODY does it. It's supposed to be 'have'.

Okay so here is where I am confused...
"Do you like shooting down peoples dreams?"
OR
"Do you like shooting down people's dreams?" (Apparently this is the correct version on Google)
So do you use the apostrophe in two cases?
1. It is = It's 2. Ownership for a group or for a name (*but not for a single entity when not using a name) Eg. - This is Kevin's ball. - That is the people's right.
* Eg. - That is his ball. (Not he's).
Fucking English.

Actually, you don't always have to use it for its, only when it's it is or something. But always use it for possession.

Single spaces after a full stop... Although, I think these boards may auto correct it to 1 full stop.
'A' instead on 'an' before a word starting with a vowel...

So you are a double spacer? Screw you. I hate double spacers (especially those that save their double spacing for after full stops - like a full stop is a grenade or something). I hope you have fun typing away with your little grenades... ...................

But TBH I can not be bothered arguing and so will leave it... :P

If you're reading a large document of sorts, then it does make it easier to distinguish a sentence...

I find that double spacing is more appropriate for certain fonts; the default for MS Word 07, Calibri, for one. Otherwise I just single space. Some academics I know demand double spacing (amongst other nit-picky things).

Actually I remember back in High School when we were introduced to Microsoft Works and some typing test program thing, the rule was single space for comma and double space after a full stop. Just doesn't seem to be used too often though. I remember in Works it was quite distinguishable and the double space was needed after a full stop, whereas somewhere like here, its not really needed.

Yeah, "it" is the exception to the rule of the apostrophe of possession.

You're right, but don't you think it goes a little way to increase the quality of the boards/posts?

He is referring specifically to the double space after the stop... and I would agree that is isn't really needed. I never use a double space after a fullstop. I wasn't even aware that was the gramatically correct method.

Probably starting to get very, VERY anal though!
