I'm more looking forward to the next one....I think in time we will look on 2006 and ask ourselves why the hell did we ever hire Pim...not that he was totally hopeless... but just not up to the required standard of international coach which we need.

Fuck yes... It's The World Cup! Every 4 years, 1 month of top class football. What's not to miss?!
People complain with the quality, people complain when there's not enough football on TV...

This WC was one of the least enjoyable I have watched, so in all reality, I do not miss it at all.
I prefer the HAL :)

Was a great time with NZ in there but I honestly prefer the A-League to international football

Well, there are 2 that have said something similar in here now... Fucking mental if you prefer the A-League to The World Cup - regardless of how poor it was deemed.

I miss Tour De France more than WC because there was alot of shit games at the World Cup that i was pissed off afterwards about staying up for a dull 0-0, whereas the Tour you could drift in and out on for 3-4 hours and there was always something interesting happening unlike Japan vs Paraguay or even Spain vs Portugal

the thing that entertains me most is when they ride under those shower sprinkler things, i like them
that and a massive crash, apart from that it's rather dull just watching riding endlessly

Mountain stages are great to watch. apart from that, how does all the point scoring in the races like the tour de france work? The winner is the rider who has the lowest overall time The Sprinters Jersey gives points for stage finishes and intermediate sprints throughout the stage The King of the Mountains is given to highest amount of points accumulated at the top of each categorised climb. The big mountains give 25 at the top, and it is scaled down from there

I don't get it, I thought this was a football forum. I love loads of other sports, but you guys (football fans, supposedly) would rather watch the Tour de France vs the World Cup which is footballs show piece event and on top of that is only shown EVERY 4 YEARS?
I'm not saying I'm a super fan and you guys aren't, or that I hate all other sports, but I do find it strange...

But some matches at this World Cup made me want to watch the Tour De France more. Fair enough... I was lucky (or unlucky) enough to be off work with an injury for the entire duration of the Cup, and I missed (not through choice) 2 games. That's correct, I watched the 10pm and midnight games live then woke up for the 10am replay for the 4am game; at no point did I think I'd rather be anywhere else watching anything else... But, that's just me.

I am an avid watcher of it every year, but I am football fan first and foremost and that's what took preference for the World Cup, unless the game was garbage

I went through stages of thinking some games were poor, but that was mainly after watching Germany or Argentina dismantle someone... But still, it only comes around once every 4 years and the people really complaining are probably the same people who want to see it more regularly. Anyway, I miss it and I loved it... Funny though; I went to Germany, but only saw a quarter of the games that I saw sitting here on the couch!

England vs Algeria, Paraguay vs Japan, Paraguay vs New Zealand... the later Paraguay games, all the Spanish matches, the Netherlands vs Slovakia although 3 goals i was still bored... there was alot of crap games that lacked intensity and fluidity
