Magic Complete Signing of Two more

Mid North Coast Magic revealed their latest two additions in front of a packed room this afternoon. Both Esteban Granero and Roberto Carlos were unveiled to the public with proud manager Marco Van Basten joyful with his pickups.

The pair, both signed from Alice Springs Avalance were part of a swap deal which saw Jonathon Moreira and Leandro Augusto go in the opposite direction.

Van Basten went on record stating "We are over the mood with the capture of these two players, both have played for arguably the biggest club in the world in Real Madrid, so it is just natural that they have come to this fine club. Granero will slot straight into the first team, while Carlos will face some stiff competition with youngster Beniot Tremoulanis for the starting LB berth."

Chairman David Flemming has also gone on record stating that this brings an end to the wheelings and dealings of the club, however hinted at the possibility of one or two players being involved in possible transfers to add some depth. "We've got our squad now, unfortunately we have a few players that just don't fit the system. We will try to find the best deal possible for both them and ourselves." It is believed that both Zoran Tosic and John Aloisi are the two players concerned here.

Brisbane Roar looking ahead

Brisbane Roar chairman, Ahmed Essof spoke of his dissapointment with the club failing to achieve their goals in the transfer window.

"We are in need of a left back and have failed in our attempts to lure any to Brisbane."

Essof was speaking at the first official training of the new Roar squad headed by Frank Rijkaard.

The Roar who have secured the services of legends such as Javier Zanetti and Juan Roman Riquelme along with young talented players in Arda Turan and Fernando Llorente, believe they can mount a serious challenge.

"We have a good squad of players and everyone is capable of playing a high quality game, so we need to aim high" Rijkaard said.

Rijkaard also shared the sentiments of the club chairman with regards to the Roars transfer dealings.

"We sold Iain Turner but have been unable to secure a left back which is our number one priority."

"Its frustrating as we have had a tough time trying to enter into any discussion or find a player who is on the market."

Rijkaard made it clear that despite the frustrating transfer window, he wants to focus on the task at hand and get on with the job.

"We need to put that transfer problems behind us and move forward now."

"The players we have are capable of doing the job and are focussed on the task at hand."

"It is up to us to go out there and put the best possible performance and try and win for the fans."
