Ok, the game is all together, we're ready to launch into the season. First update will be the 1st of January, then you'll get the chance to make any mid-season transfers. The next update will be end of the regular season, before the play-offs and cup final. The third update will be after the play-offs and then we'll have the 'summer' window. aaaaaaaaaaaand repeat.
I'm managing australia through this so I get any key news stories through the season.

Sounds great afro.
Just a little curious about the transfer windows. Will we only be allowed to trade players with each other, or will we be able to select from a new "draft" or something? No really bothered either way or even for now, simply curious.
Thanks for all the work.

Quote:FourFourTwo wrote:Red Army ready to kick offThe West Sydney based club are all set to get their season underway. After a long off season of recruitung players, the focus turns to matters on the pitch. The club has been placed in the B-League. Some teams have blasted the FFA over their inclusion in the B-League but the Red Army is looking at the positives. "Ofcourse, we would have like to be in the top flight, but given our order in the draft we were unable to really attract world class quality which other clubs were able to do. We relied on building a strong balanced squad and are very happy with our squad. We probably wouldn't have had the squad to compete with the best in the A-League but I can see us being among the favourites for promotion. So in a seasons time after the club has had time to get on its feet I think we can compete with the best in the country" said Chairman Simpson. The squad was unveiled in front of thousands of fans today at Parramatta Stadium. From the looks of things any team travelling to Western Sydney is going to be welcomed by a hostile atmosphere. "The fans will be a real feature of the league and hopefully they can get behind us and help us achieve our goal of promotion" said Red Army captain Phil Neville.

Quote: Avalanche in the Top Flight Mike Cockerill SMH
After much deliberation at FFA headquarters over the past weeks, Alice Springs will have its first ever team in the top flight of Australian football. With players such as Yoann Gourcuff, Marouane Chamakh, Robbie Fowler and the Australian Mark Bresciano, the Alice Springs faithful have plenty to look forward too over the next season. Both Chairman Scott Boyton and Manager Ronald Koeman are bullish about their team's chances for their season with their inaugural squad in the A-League. Current Bordeaux manager Jean Tigana sees Alice Springs as having a great chance in the A-League this year with 2 of his former players turning out for the Avalanche this season after Gourcuff turned down Lyon and Chamakh turning down Arsenal for a new start down under.
Chairman Scott Boyton says "football is very popular among the younger community. A high number of children play it. Football is also played quite a bit by adults in different divisions. There is also an all African league for football in Alice Springs." With the introduction of an A-League side in the Alice, we see just how far Australian Football has come.

The Age wrote: Fan Day A Success Michael Lynch
With the new A-League season approaching fast ,newly formed club West Melbourne FC celebrated their inagural 'Ultimate Fan Day' yesterday at Mansion Stadium.
Over 300,000 people showed up to Mansion Stadium in Sunshine North for the event, but the majority were turned away as the stadium is not big enough to support that many people.
The event featured apperances from all the players, who posed for photos and signed autographs during the day. Other entertainment included a concert by World-famous Rock Band the Foo Fighters, along with the world's largest Jumping Castle for the kids.
West Melbourne FC Chairman David Manuca was also there in attendance, meeting and greeting the fans and thanking them for their support of the club.
"It has been a wonderful event. It sure has trumped anyone elses in the league, and will be very hard to beat" said Manuca.
"Of course I am dissapointed that we will be playing in the second division this season, but with the playing squad we have i'm sure we will have no trouble in getting up to the A-League as soon as possible."
West Melbourne's Marquee player David Silva also praised the fans for turning up, saying he can't wait to play in this wonderful club.
"This club is amazing. The fans are amazing, I mean look at all the people here. I can't believe it." said Silva.
"The new season can't come quick enough. I just want to get out their and play in-front of this crowd, and show them why we are soon going to be the best club in Australia."

Fierce rivalry hey hey hey dont forget the blue mountain bluebags who's homes games are at Penrith CUA stadium, we do things a bit different in the west, Samir Nasri has reveled hes surprise at Josef Petřík's training techniques, Samir said he wasnt expecting a bonding session that involved jumping into Nepean river and catching alligators as shown above,''Im used to having backyard BBQs, Going to cafe's you know the normal things, but it must be said once the BBQ was going the locals came out in force to share this great meal and it was great to meet the fans and pose for photos'' said Nasri, Chairman Pimpsta knows that to be a successful team in the A-League you must have local support and by judging the smiles on the local's faces some would say this season looks to be success in the making.

There has been some recent controversy between two new Australian clubs, Sydney Rovers & the Red Army Football Club. Both based out in the west of Sydney, Red Army had just enjoyed a very successful fan day at Parramatta Stadium when a rumour had started that this was the home ground of Sydney Rovers. A quick glance back to previous documents and contracts showed that the Red Army did indeed have Parramatta Stadium to themselves.
This is sure to heat up the rivalry between the two sets of fans. Red Army midefielder Darren Fletcher was questioned over the recent confusion, when asked how do you think this rivalry compares to what you are used to? "Well, I have played in Manchester derbies, United v Liverpool etc and nothing beats those but going from what I have seen so far I think there is a fierce rivalry in the making. We dont play each other this year but I know the fans are praying to meet them in the FFA Cup". Also asked about another possible derby match against Blue Mountain Bluebags, he answered with a puzzled look "...who?"

think its safe to say these are the El Clasico's for the 1st Division
North Queensland vs Brisbane Sydney Rovers vs Ajax (seriously should of dropped Redfern from the name)
and to a lesser extent South Coast vs Sutherland... just need to wait for one of the Melbourne teams to come up and give Revolution a go

Speaking to Bluebagsonlinetv.com Steve Mandanda arguably the best keeper in the league has stated he finds it funny Red Army are showing Blue Mountains no respect when it was Red Army boss Busbybabe who was pleading with Pimpsta about a one off 'Battle of the west' game to kick start the season,''i find it a little disrespectful that he would scope this low, its a shame thay are in div 2 otherwise im sure our fans would of welcomed them with open arms'' laughed Steve Mandana, Busbybabe knew any game involving Bluebags would attract a healthy crowd and as such would include healthy gate takings for both teams, any team having players like Samir Nasri, Diego,Alessandro Nesta and Luis Suarez would put bums on seats esp if you compare it to Red Army's 'star' players - Phil Neville and Darren Fletcher(Yes ive never heard of them either)
