A Melbourne derby in the second division. The Adelaide derby between Red Army and Sporting, the NZ derby, Fremantle v Perth, Cowra v Canberra... There's also North v South coast in the A-League, the big three-way rivalry between NQI, Roar and Sunshine and Rovers v Ajax.

11.mvfc.11 wrote:Still reckon AFC should be in the top flight... And I think you should suck my balls. You came in late. It would be unfair to put you in the top flight ahead of people who were involved from the beginning. Red Army deserves to be there more than you anyway. So if I was going to re-shuffle, he'd go up rather than AFC Melbourne. I thought about it for about an hour and came to the conclusion that there was no way I could justify AFC Melbourne being in the top flight ahead of Red Army, West Melbourne or in fact any of the current A-League sides.

I think it must be noted that I put my hand up to be in div 2 to get the game underway. I think my side is as strong as a few of div 1 clubs.

I completely agree with this, but if you weren't going to be in the top flight with your contribution all along, why would 'Johnny-come-lately' 11.mvfc.11 be in the top flight? You can't come along late and expect to rock straigth into the top flight.

Melbourne Age wrote: Rovers Chairman Apologises for Drunken Outburst
A press release was issues this afternoon apologising for the mix-up that caused a near-riot to break out at the Red Army fan day.
The situation was set off by a incorrect allegation from Rovers Chairman Mack Heath, who claimed that he had existing contracts with Parramatta Stadium. Before the situation could be corrected, a mob of angry Blacktown Bogans, the newly formed Rovers Home End, descended. A convoy of 35 Ute's of various makes of Holden and Ford were spotted heading down to the area, blasting AC/DC and The Chisel.
Luckily, they were headed off by the police, who informed the bogans of their mistake. They turned around and went to the pub.
"Yeah, sorry about that mates. I got a bit munted, didn't have a clue what I was talking about." Heath remarked at the press conference and season launch.
When asked who he thought were the best chance at winning the title, Heath responded, "Of course, we think we have a deep, strong squad that can do the job over the entire season."
"Apart from yourself, who might have a shot at the playoffs and the title in your estimation?"
"Of course, well Wagga will be right up there, Ajax are strong local rivals. Mid North Coast Magic have a great manager."
"How about the other teams?"
"Hmm, there could be a surprise packet from one of the regional teams. Perhaps the Avalanche, Sunshine Coast, Kalgoorlie or North Queensland International."
"Well, apart from all those teams."
"Darkhorses? Well, one of the fellow Sydney teams, Sutherland could spring some surprises. The Brisbane Roar have a squad that could do well if they find consistency, and South Coast FC can beat any team in the league on their day. Tassie look pretty tasty too."
"What about Melbourne Revolution?"
"No."
The season kicks off shortly, but Rovers are heading off on a whirlwind tour of the United States, where they will take on the LA Galaxy, Seattle Sounders, and Inter Milan, as part of a pre-season Tournament.

The most valuable player in the league at the start of the game is Wagga's Rafael Marquez. The following players have been signed by clubs: Bernardo - Ajax (10m) Sandro - Revolution (8m) Kucher - Kalgoorlie (8m) Luiz Adriano - Sunshine Coast (8m) Forlan - West Melbourne (7m) (Did someone just hear dt ejaculate everywhere?) Cabanas - Blue Mountains (4.5m) Olsson - Ajax (4.5m) Villanueva - Newcaslte FC (4.4m) Blas Prerez - Fremantle (3.3m) Gronkjaer - Alice Springs (2.4m) Ekdal - Revolution (2.4m) Zapater - Revolution (2.1m) Jarolim - Revolution (loan) Stoor - Ajax (loan) Kallstrom - South Coast FC Apparently Rehhagel doesn't think much of the squad I gave him. Good luck to DT getting into the top flight, I'd like a derby clash.

Solbakken must love the squad I masterfully made for him. Champion
He was a man of specific quirks. He believed that all meals should be earned through physical effort. He also contended, zealously like a drunk with a political point, that the third dimension would not be possible if it werent for the existence of water.

Suprise Packet... dead set contenders, would be a failure if i don't come top 3 DT just had a major explosion that just whipped out both Hot Threads in a gush of Forlan... i'll try and do a list but i'm only doing A-League, cbf doing both divisions... and i reckon we should have a Chairmen's poll who do you think will win the league AND you can't vote for yourself

Luxemburgo has brought in some good backups. 10m for Bernardo? Bit pricey but hope he can improve.
Which Olsson is it btw afro, Jonas or Martin?
