Because I made a legitimate bid for one that was inexplicably rendered void by an illegitimate bid? I bid for Akinfeev and nobody else made a legitimate bid - that would mean he'd transfer to me?

Both parties had plenty of opportunity to complete the bidding process, both parties had ample opportunity to reach an agreement over the player. Both parties previously held top bid. If you really wanted the player, you'd have opened the bidding for him, but you didn't.

So holding the top bid for him isn't good enough now? So nobody else should get their players they had top bid on either, just the people that got in first?

I think the ruling is fair enough, as this has never happened before, but I think you should set a rule in case this happens again. And I also think some of the arguments you are presenting against scouse here are pretty stupid. It doesn't matter how much he bid, or when. I don't think he deserves any compo, but saying this is somehow his fault is stupid. It was an event that was unprecedented, and both parties have the unfortunate position of being involved. But it isn't anybodys fault.

No, but there WASN'T a rule. Now there can be, for all future instances. It's like when playing a card game, and find you've forgotten some rules, you implement them, for every instance after that. But you don't use that rule on the first instance, as both parties weren't aware.

If you were aware 6.00.00 wouldnt count, would you have waited as long?

FWIW, I ran one of the bidding deadline things once, if this happened I would've laughed at Gooner for being a second too late and given the player to Scouse and moved on :lol:

Look, let's all just move on, gang. It's clear that none of this is productive at all. I'm sure I'll get a chance at a decent 'keeper for Christchurch next transfer window.

In an ideal world, yes. But right now it's silly season at crown, we've got the spring carnival turning into the summer break which leads into christmas which then becomes new year which is followed up by the Aussie Millions, Australia Day and then Chinese New Year....so things are VERY busy at work in the coming weeks and months.

I'll do the best I can and hopefully you guys won't go for more than a week without any kind of action in the league...updates will hopefully be every week or every fortnight at the most, but things I can't forsee could get in the way of that.

I'd like to see us make it through several seasons this time though so I'll do the best I can to keep things moving.

I'm working on putting the database changes in and we'll be ready to rock and roll by the end of tonight...I'll run the sim up until the end of the regular season.

Then I'll do full match reports for play-offs, the cup final and A-League final.

End of the season I'm pretty sure. When their contracts expire at the B/C league teams.

They'll be transferred at the end of the season. They've signed pre-contracts with your clubs and will arrive before the WC.

I'm trying to find the time to edit the database but right now shit's pretty hectic with the spring carnival.
