Nice week to have a bye, crazy week, Chad Henne playing amazing worries me and im hoping it was a 1 off because we have the Jags next week. Matt Ryan throwing 5INT yet the Falcons still win, Sanchez leading the Jets to a win, RGIII having an almost perfect game, Schaub going for 525 yards and 5TDs with 200+ going to Andre Johnson and to top it off, 3 OT games. Crazy.

And to top it off, i benched Blackmon in my ESPN league. :(

It was a 'perfect' game. First rookie to throw a 158.3 rating. The look on Andy Reid's face after his second TD was brilliant.

Jags v Texans was the first time 2 receivers went for 200+ yards too.

RG3 and Luck are both good QBs already. I can see Luck winning an MVP or two down the line. Perhaps RG3 as well.

RG3's a better QB. The only reason Luck looks as good is because he's throwing to Reggie Wayne.

Totally disagree. Luck has no one apart from Wayne. One receiver doesn't get you to a 6-4 record. The guys surprisingly athletic as well.

Bears vs 49ers on ESPN now. Keen.

People are talking about Colin Kaepernick taking over for Alex Smith at the niners. Fuck, people need to calm down. He had one decent (but entirely un-remarkable) game. #-o

You have to feel sorry for Jets fans, their team is always talking the talk but never walks the walk. Meanwhile, their O-line don't know their assignments (that's on the coach), the D-line don't work together well and their linebackers don't close off the edge fast enough. Their RB makes James Starks look reliable, their best WR is out injured and Kerley is useless. All they have going for them is their DB's.

The team is in complete disarray, and everyone's blaming Sanchez. Are you kidding?

I don't think Sanchez is all the problem. He's not a great QB, but he was the starter when they made two AFC championship games. He has no help on offense. Crap receiving unit and a poor O-line. The D was always going to struggle with or without Revis.

Interesting Kaepernick is a starter now. Feel sorry for Alex Smith. He's not elite, but he gets the job done, takes them to an AFC title game, plays well this season...but Kaepernick has something about him. Not saying he's going to be great, but I think he has the ability to be better than Smith.

Meanwhile, in sadder news, Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher has committed at the team's practice facility after killing his girlfriend. Shocking news, very sad.

EDIT: Jesus. Just read he killed himself in front of Chiefs coach romeo Cronell and GM Scott Pioli.

AN NFL player with Kansas City Chiefs fatally shot his girlfriend then drove to the team's stadium and took his own life as his coaches pleaded with him not to pull the trigger.

Police Captain David Lindaman told the Kansas City Star newspaper that Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher, 25 shot himself at Arrowhead Stadium on Saturday after killing his 22-year-old girlfriend following an altercation.

Police spokesman Darin Snapp told reporters at the stadium that authorities had responded to a call from the residence where the woman was shot.

Shortly after they received a second emergency call from the stadium, and as police were responding the second shooting took place.

"When officers arrived they observed a black male who had a gun to his head and he was talking to a couple of coaches out in the parking lot," Snapp said.

"As officers pulled up and began to park, that's when they heard the gunshot and it appears the individual took his own life."

Police said Chiefs staff attempted to calm Belcher, who spoke with head coach Romeo Crennel and general manager Scott Pioli before shooting himself.

"He had a conversation with Scott Pioli," Lindaman said. "There was no threat and it was quite friendly, from what I understand. The Chiefs' organisation had been very supportive of him and he was expressing that."

Lindaman said Belcher's mother who was visiting her son, the girlfriend and their infant daughter, witnessed the shooting that led to the death of the young woman, Kasandra Perkins, who was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The Chiefs management expressed sorrow over Belcher's suicide.

"The entire Chiefs family is deeply saddened by today's events, and our collective hearts are heavy with sympathy, thoughts and prayers for the families and friends affected by this unthinkable tragedy," chairman Clark Hunt said in a statement.

"We sincerely appreciate the expressions of sympathy and support we have received from so many in the Kansas City and NFL communities, and ask for continued prayers for the loved ones of those impacted."

Belcher, who was originally from Long Island, New York, had been with the Chiefs for four years. He joined them as an undrafted free agent out of university and worked his way into a starting position.

The Chiefs said on Saturday that they would host the Carolina Panthers as scheduled on Sunday.

"After discussions between the league office, Head Coach Romeo Crennel and Chiefs team captains, the Chiefs advised the NFL that it will play tomorrow's game vs the Carolina Panthers at its originally scheduled time," a statement on the team's official website said.

The Panthers, who had already been advised by the league to stick to their scheduled travel plans, offered condolences to their Sunday opponents.

"The Carolina Panthers are very saddened by the tragic events that have transpired today and send their thoughts and prayers to the entire Kansas City Chiefs organisation and to the family of the victim at this most difficult time," a statement issued by the Panthers said.

Tragic story. You have to feel for his teammates that witnessed it and for his daughter. And wonder what on earth was going through his head :?

#1 pick is almost guaranteed to land in Kansas now. It'll be interesting to see how this impacts on Crennel and whether he stays in the job.

A few talking points from this morning...

The Vikings become just the third team in 15 years to have a 200+ yard rusher and still lose a game. The Packers did well to overcome their injuries, but Ponder was woeful for much of the game.

Somehow the Lions blew it hard against the Colts got home on the final play of the game.

The Rams rolled the Niners in OT, as did the Seahawks against the Bears making the NFC North exceptionally interesting with Packers and Bears tied on 8-4.

Kansas City stood up after Jovan Belcher's suicide to score a 6 point win over the Panthers.

But the biggest talking point is Rex Ryan finally benching Sanchez for Greg McElroy to march the Jets down the field for the winning score in a 7-6 win over the Cardinals.

After foolishly benching Brandon Marshall in preference to thinking Andre Johnson would keep his fine form going, I'm 11 points behind in my other league after Brown's brace against the Cowboys. So now I need Lawrence Tynes to kick 11 points...and if I'd started Gostkowski I'd have those 11 points. Talk about your epic fuck-ups.

That's just Manning and Richardson finally starting to click with their respective teams. If you were scoring 20 odd points less like they were earlier in the season you'd have lost today.

Cardinals were absolutely awful. Big hattrick by Marshawn Lynch there.

Likewise, Wilson with 327 all-purpose yards and a hattrick for the Giants in their massive win over the Saints.

26 yard penalty on a third down. It was disgusting and cost the texans 7 points.

Texans secondary has been pretty average. They've gotta get JJ Watt back into the game too.

I'd say the Texans D should shoulder some of the blame. Not so much on the wrong call, but leaving Hernandez with no one on him at the line? What the fuck were they doing?

Brady snapped the ball just 4 seconds after the spot there. Not surprising that nobody covered him.

The real mistakes you should be pointing at is the Texans TWICE going for it on 4th down, they could have 6 points on the board instead of zilch. Not to mention Schaub's decision to air it and get picked off instead of checking down to an open Foster.

Pretty much every call is going Pats way here. There's been 2 illegal shifts and 2 blocks in the back off punts that haven't been called against Pats. Not to mention pathetic PI calls.
