I think he was linked to United before Evra signed a new contract, and don't think there's been anything since that I can remember.

Not the greatest circumstances to get his 200th game for Arsenal but congratulations nontheless. And now for the madness to begin  What's the bet this leads to Squillaci and Koscielny having their best game just out of pure fear

Ryo Miyachi had an excellent game from all reports. Two assists from corners and a header off the bar in a 4-0 win for Feyernoord against Utrecht.
Sky News are reporting that Stan Kroenke is in advanced talks with Arsenal to take control of the club.

Quote: Loanees: Miyaichi assists as Botelho sees red Welcome to this weekends loanees watch - Young Guns' analysis, reports and updates on the progress of the young starlets currently plying their trade away from the Emirates Stadium. You can read all the latest reports below. Carlos Vela was an unused substitute for West Brom as they beat Sunderland 3-2. Jay Emmanuel-Thomas was not included in the Cardiff City squad that beat Doncaster 3-1. Henri Lansbury played the full 90 mins as Norwich City lost 3-0 to Swansea City. Lansbury was restored to the midfield after being rested last week, and he came as close as anybody to scoring for Norwich. Henri;s second half shot looked dangerous, but was deflected behind for a corner on a forgettable day for the Canaries. Sanchez Watt was not included in the Leeds squad that lost 3-2 to Milwall. Craig Eastmond was not included in the Millwall squad that beat Leeds 3-2. Benik Afobe played the full 90 mins as Huddersfield Town drew 1-1 with Peterborough United. Afobe had a handful of chances to score, including what would been a wonder goal, after beating four players in a mazy run. Mark Randall was not part of the Rotheram United squad that drew 1-1 with Cheltenham Town. Randall was in reserve team action for Rotheram in midweek, playing in their clash with Rochdale. Ryo Miyaichi played the full 90 minutes as Feyenoord beat Utrecht 4-0. Miyaichi assisted the opening two goals, both from corners, with one from either side. His right sided effort was headed in by Leroy Fer, before Kevin Leerdam turned in Ryo's delivery from the left. He then made a darting run to create space for Diego Biseswar's third. The youngster played the whole game on the left of a front three. Gilles Sunu came on to play the final 28 minutes of Lorient's 1-1 draw with Sochaux. Sunu made a notable impact after coming on, setting up two chances. The first was wasted by Diarra, but the second was almost converted by Monnet-Paquet, but for a key block. Francis Coquelin was an unused substitute. Armand Traore played the full 90 minutes as Juventus beat Genoa 3-2. Traore turned in a promising shift at left back, showing improved defensive awareness in what proved to be a tight affair. Wellington Silva was not included in the Levante squad that drew 1-1 with Racing Santander. Pedro Botelho started and played 84 minutes before being sent off, as FC Cartagena lost 3-1 to Recreativo. The Brazilian was restored to left back for the fixture, but in a frustrating game, he was shown a straight red card for head-butting an opponent in the closing stages. Samuel Galindo was an unused substitute as UD Salamanca drew 2-2 with Ponferradina. http://younggunsblog.co.uk/2011/04/loanees-miyaichi-assists-as-botelho-sees-red/

Quote: Exclusive: Kroenke Poised For Control Of Arsenal FC I can exclusively reveal that the US tycoon Stan Kroenke is poised to take control of Arsenal Football Club. I'm reliably told that Kroenke, who already owns close to 30 per cent of the Premier League club, is in advanced talks to acquire the 16 per cent stakes held by both Danny Fiszman and Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith. An announcement could be made to the stock market as early as tomorrow morning, although it could be delayed. By securing undertakings to sell their shares to him, Kroenke would take his shareholding in Arsenal to about 62 per cent of the club, triggering a mandatory offer for the rest of the shares. I'll have more on this breaking news later this evening. UPDATE 18:45: A deal for Kroenke to take control of Arsenal Holdings plc would resolve the uncertainty surrounding the ownership of another of English football's giants. I understand that he is likely to pay between £11,500 and £12,000 for each of the shares that he is offering to acquire from Fiszman and Bracewell-Smith. Buying roughly a third of the shares in issue would therefore cost Kroenke in the region of £290m. But who is this prospective owner of Arsenal FC? Kroenke is the principal shareholder in Kroenke Sports Enterprises, a Denver-based live sports and entertainment group. He has been an investor in Arsenal since 2007, when he bought a 9.9 per cent stake in the club that was owned by ITV. Like the new owners of Liverpool FC, who own the Boston Red Sox baseball team, Kroenke has major US sports interests, including the Denver Nuggets of the NBA, Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer and the NFL's St. Louis Rams. The timing of Kroenke's move is interesting. On the pitch, Arsenal will have had a disappointing season unless they can overturn a seven-point deficit on Manchester United during the remaining fixtures of the Premier League campaign. Off the pitch, Arsenal's finances are in reasonable shape: at the interim results for Arsenal Holdings plc announced in February (for the half-year to last November), the company reported an operating profit of £12.6m, although of course, many of the club's supporters would prefer the board to be looser with the purse-strings in the transfer market. Incidentally, for those of you who follow these City-related matters, I'm told that Kroenke is being advised by Deutsche Bank, Arsenal is being advised by Rothschild and Lady Bracewell-Smith is being advised by Blackstone. I should point out that Kroenke's takeover isn't yet a done deal for several technical reasons in that he still has to make an offer to the rest of Arsenal's shareholders. There's also a potential obstacle in the shape of Alisher Usmanov, a Russian oil tycoon who owns about 27 per cent of the club's shares. He has also been interested in pursuing a takeover of the club although it's difficult to see how he can do so now without making a knockout counterbid to the other big shareholders. It's also worth pointing out that a takeover of Arsenal by an American tycoon would complete a clean sweep of the top tier of English football in relation to foreign ownership. Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are all owned by foreigners even as the costs of ownership, driven by higher wages, continue to rise. A spokesman for Arsenal declined to comment this evening. http://blogs.news.sky.com/kleinman/Post:341d6161-4fd3-438f-81b2-50a8aa4345d0 If this goes through will mean big changes at the club. Word is that it'll mean David Dein coming back which I really hope happens. Edited by sydneycroatia58: 11/4/2011 04:59:18 AM

Arsenal have released this statement to the PLUS Markets. "The Boards of KSE & AFC are pleased to announce that they have agreed the terms of a commended mandatory £ offer to be made by KSE for AFC. For each Arsenal Share, Arsenal Shareholders will receive GBP11,750 in cash. The Offer values the entire issued share capital of Arsenal at approximately £731 million." Kroenke: "We are excited about the opportunity to increase our involvement with and commitment to Arsenal. Arsenal is a fantastic Club with a special history and tradition and a wonderful manager in Arsene Wenger. We intend to build on this rich heritage and take the AFC to new success. I am delighted that Peter Hill-Wood has agreed to support us by continuing as Chairman." Wenger:"I have worked with Kroenke at board meetings over the past couple of years and I believe he has the best interests of Arsenal at heart. He understands the Club's heritage and traditions and our ambition to run the Club in a way which protects our long term future." Basically now means that Kroenke owns 62.89% of Arsenal Football Club, and has agreed terms of a mandatory cash offer for remaining shares. Arsenal are valued at 878m - 731m assets and 147m debt Full statement can be seen here http://www.plus-sx.com/newsItem.html?newsId=1155049Edited by sydneycroatia58: 11/4/2011 04:18:39 PM

I think he'll spend some money in the summer to strengthen the squad, but apart from that not much will change I don't think. He doesn't need to spend a huge amount of money anyway.

I'd buy a CB, but that means a CB will be leaving as well. I'd sell Denilson(if we can convince anyone to buy him), I'd buy another DM to help Song preferably Scott Parker and I'd buy a LW so we can sell Arshavin.

Djourou won't be leaving, and we'd be crazy to sell him. Wouldn't surprise me if Wenger doesn't buy a CB who won't be first choice and he'll trust Vermaelen as his first choice partnership, which I would be happy with tbph.
If we sold Arshavin I'd go for either Eden Hazard or Ashley Young.
If any CB leaves I suspect it'll be Squillaci.

So it seems Alisher Usmanov isn't going to go down without a fight.
Apparently he's offered 13k per shar for Nina-Bracewell Smith's 16%, as opposed to Kroenke's offer of 11.75k a share.
Good news is that Lady Nina has rejected two offers from Usmanov. Kinda of ends this shit about her selling out and doing it for the money.

So some good injury news today with Szczesny and Djourou back in full training today. Would be a massive boost to have them both back for the Liverpool game.

The deal for Arsenal's take-over may well be a little more complicated than first thought. Arsenal Supporters' Trust refuses to sell shares to Stan Kroenke

There's nothing complicated about it. They have no obligation to sell, and I'd rather they didn't. Kroenke won't have any problem with it since he doesn't need to buy their shares and has always stated a desire to keep the fans involved.
So how exactly is it more complicated?

The trust could stand in the way of Kroenke taking the controlling stake in the club.

He's already got deals in place to purchase Danny Fiszman and Lady Nina Bracewell-Smith's shares. Taking his total to 62.9%. He just has to make an offer for the remaining shares, they don't have to accept for him to take over. The AST are in favour of a takeover, and were never going to vote to sell their shares anyway.

Tbh, his offer for the shares seems to over value the club just a little.

Some possibly big news from France, that Lille are apparently willing to listen to offers of 15-18m euros for Eden Hazard, and with us having first refusal and his preferred destination being Arsenal it puts us in a very very good position.
Also looks like some excellent news ahead of the weekend. I mentioned the other day that Szczesny and Djourou were back in training, well now it seems they are set for a return this weekend. If they both do come back this weekend it is a boost of immense proportions. Also apparently Vermaelen is looking a whole lot better.
