France Football are reporting that Arsenal have made an official bid of about 14m euros for PSG defender Mamadou Sakho. Makes sense if true since Wenger has been a massive fan of his for ages. Would most likely mean that Squillaci will be off, probably to France.
Makes even more sense with our French scout Gilles Grimandi and our Chief Scout Steve Rowley both at PSG last night watching Sakho.

Quote: Henry Watch: Goal, assist for Henry in win Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has begun his second season with the New York Red Bulls of the MLS and USA.Arsenal.com will be tracking his progress throughout the season. Major League Soccer is now in its 16th year, and the striker is hoping to lead the Red Bulls to their first first-ever MLS Cup. Each week, we’ll provide a brief look at the Arsenal legend’s performances for the Red Bulls. NEW YORK RED BULLS 3-0 SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKESIt’s been a frustrating start to the 2011 MLS season for Thierry Henry. The Arsenal legend failed to find the back of the net in his first three games, and his New York Red Bulls have only managed to win one out of four, including last week’s 1-0 loss at Philadelphia. Both the player and the team were looking to turn things around. And it didn’t take long to do so. In the second minute, New York took the early lead off a corner by Rafa Marquez. The former Barcelona player’s kick sailed toward the far post, where Dane Richards managed to knock it back toward center – and teammate Luke Rodgers. The English forward headed it past San Jose keeper Jon Busch, and the Red Bulls were off to a flying start. New York doubled their lead 13 minutes later after some tenacious defending by Henry. The Frenchman stole the ball from San Jose’s Ramiro Corrale deep in Earthquake territory and sent a quick pass to Rodgers who side-footed the ball home from close range. The Red Bulls were dominating and Henry was beginning to look like his old self, but was still searching for that elusive first goal of the season. His first chance of the night came in the 25th minute, when his one-time shot from just inside the area was saved by Busch. Never one to give up, he came back strong in the second half. Seven minutes after the restart, Henry broke away from the San Jose defense, beat Busch but could only manage to fire the ball into the side-netting. With 15 minutes left in the game, the striker tried again from long-distance, but a diving Busch got a hand on the shot to deflect it wide. Henry’s frustrations reached a crescendo a few minutes later when he rushed to meet a long pass from Rodgers, beat the defender to the ball, but his powerful shot sailed over the crossbar. But redemption would come. With three minutes left in regulation, Rodgers floated a pass from the right corner of the area and Henry met the cross to head home his first league goal since September 2010. The win lifts the Red Bulls into a tie for second place in the Eastern Conference, two points behind Philadelphia. The next match is Thursday at DC United. http://www.arsenal.com/usa/news/news-archive/henry-watch-goal-assist-for-henry-in-win

Wenger's been scouting him for 5 years, and went for him hard 3 years ago, so any link with us you can take with more than a pinch of salt. Wenger will make a move for him this summer, with Squillaci increasingly looking like he's off back to France.

A possibility, although I think PSG would rather straight up cash for Sakho. Can't really blame them, I would to in their position.

Article wrote:Fabregas hits out at Arsenal 'finishing school' Cesc Fabregas has warned that Arsenal must decide whether they want to win trophies or run a finishing school.
The Gunners' captain admitted their young squad lack “winning and strong players” to look up to and claimed that is a key reason why they have gone six years without any silverware.
Fabregas’ outburst on the eve of the North London derby will also raise new question marks about his own future and whether he is losing patience - he says such a long barren spell would not be accepted in his native Spain.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has resisted making big-name and big-money buys in the transfer market, but now it would seem even his own players are questioning his management style.
Fabregas said: “If you went to Spain and said to Guardiola, Mourinho or [Valencia boss] Unai Emery that they would have three years without winning a trophy, it would be obvious they would not continue [at their clubs].

Can't really disagree with anything he says tbph. Still probably won't be going anywhere this summer unless Barca stump up the cash, which they seem unwilling to do so.

good game The second half was brilliant. Good attacking football. From an Arsenal position some things I noticed: - They're very quick on the counter but slow down once they get over half way allowing teams to regroup. They need an inform Arsharvin to keep it going and cross in from the by-line. - Fabregas could shoot more. He's got the skills and the technique but for some reason refused to shoot on the odd occasion today. I at least thought it was strange. - Allowed Lennon to much time to run, they have the defenders to close him down but didn't. Barcy can match him over a short distance. - Shit schedule, Arsenal looked tired towards the end where as we hadn't played in 7 days.

The game slowed down a heap once Theo went off and Shava came on.
Cesc towards the end of the 2nd half was shooting a fair bit and went close a few times.
As for Lennon, we allowed him space to run because when he's on the left you know he has to cut back onto his right, so you can allow for that extra yard.

Cesc didn't seem to want to shoot inside the area though, thats what I was getting at. I thought you'd want to keep Lennon on the left and stop him cutting in all together. Too often he was allowed to run.

Too often he was allowed to run. It was hard for him because whenever he had a chance to shoot, either the ball just got away from him or it was stuck in his feet. Still has an excellent game. With Lennon, when he was on the left, you want to give him that extra yard so that when he does decide to cut back Sagna or whoever is right there to stop him. If you go hell for leather with him he'll kill you cutting back on the inside, so really you have to sacrifice that bit of space for him, and you could see why when every time he tried to cut5 back and cross it whenever he did get a cross in it was poor.

You may be out of the race but you can stop the Mancs from winning it - beat them on the w/e and Chelski could be only 3 pts behind them with a better GD. Then, they play each other the week after, and Chelsea could go first.
Or
You beat Manc, Chelsea lose to spurs, Chelsea beat Manc, and then you could have you guys only 3 points from first.
Don't give up yet!
