Was a good night in the internationals, no injuries that I've seen and we had Park score again. As well as Szczesny apparently keeping Poland in the match against Germany all by himself. Also a well done to Aaron Ramsey who was named MOTM against England.

Was also a good night for Nicklas Bendtner who got 2 against Norway.

Szczesny is EA SPORTS Player of the Month

Wojciech Szczesny is the EA SPORTS Player of the Month for August.

The Polish goalkeeper established himself as Arsenal's No 1 during the second half of last season and shows no sign of relinquishing that role after a splendid start to the new campaign.

Wojciech kept a clean sheet at Newcastle with an authoritative display between the posts and produced a fine save from Liverpool's Andy Carroll before he was finally beaten by a freak own goal in our second Premier League game of 2011/12.

The 21-year-old kept Udinese at bay in the first leg of the Champions League play-off and then excelled himself in Italy with a superb penalty save from Antonio di Natale at a crucial stage of the tie. He did concede eight times at Manchester United but still pulled off a string of fine saves to restrict the damage.

Wojciech has been just as impressive on the international stage, earning praise from Germany legend Oliver Kahn for his performance in a 2-2 draw in Gdansk.

Arsenal fans clearly agree with Kahn - they voted in their thousands to crown him the EA SPORTS Player of the Month with 40 per cent of the votes cast.

Theo Walcott's three goals in a flying start to the season earned him second place in the official Club poll while centre back Thomas Vermaelen was third.

No surprise, no one else deserved it. You know your team must have been shit when your keeper lets in 8 goals one game but still wins a player of the month award for that month

Oliver Khan's reaction to the Poland v Germany match

Tonight there was only one world class player - Szczesny

That save from Schurrle and the double save from Podolski and Klose were just fucking outstanding. He is the only reason Poland got anything out of that match.

Ok so in January we will lose Gervinho after Ivory Coast qualified, we'll probably lose Chamakh with Morocco a good chance to qualify. Also a good chance we'll lose Frimpong(if Ghana pick him) with Ghana looking like qualifying.

Good news is Cameroon haven't qualified so we don't lose Alex Song in January :d

Oxlade-Chamberlain - My England ambitions

By Giuseppe Muro

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is determined to follow in his father’s footsteps and play for England. But Arsenal’s summer signing has set his sights on winning more caps than his dad.

The teenager, who joined the Club from Southampton in August, turned heads with two outstanding displays for Stuart Pearce’s Under-21s last week and harbours ambitions to represent the senior side one day.

His father, Mark Chamberlain, won eight England caps in the early 80s and the winger admits he would love to surpass that total.

“Things are looking good but there’s plenty I still need to do if I want to play for England one day, like my dad did,” he said. “And hopefully win a few more caps than he did!

“I always knew I wanted to be a footballer and, as long as that was my aim, then my dad would do everything to help me achieve it.

“My mum kept me concentrating on my schoolwork at the same time so it was a good balance. I think my friends always thought I’d make it but you can keep saying it as much as you like - there’s still a lot of hard work to do before it happens.”

Chamberlain Senior enjoyed a distinguished 20-year career with a number of clubs including Port Vale, Stoke and Portsmouth, racking up over 500 appearances along the way. Alex says the former midfielder had a big influence on his fledgling career.

“He’s hands-on when he needs to be - he’ll let me know when I’m not doing well or need to improve something, and he gives me plenty of good advice.

“When I do well, though, he won’t go over the top - he’ll quietly say ‘well done’, and point out where I could still improve. He’ll never let me get ahead of myself and it’s the same with my mum, even if she gets a bit more excited!

“My dad’s very calm and he does things in the right way for me - I understand him, and he’ll always be honest about how I’m doing.

“I still realise now that I haven’t reached the pinnacles I plan to, so I wouldn’t say I’ve made it yet either.”

He was excellent for the U21's in both games, especially the 2nd with 4 assists. Will be good to see him in the League Cup with a good full runout.

Wish he stayed with the Saints for another year, at least on loan if Arsenal wanted to buy him. Should have stuck with 90 mins week in week out compared to subs and league cup games. Him talking up Arsenal is a bit of a Fuck you to Saints who gave him everything.

Some early team news ahead of the weekend. Santos isn't fully match fit yet, and Gibbs is back so he may start on the weekend. Squillaci is still out and I think he's got an Almunia type injury  Rosicky is a doubt, but Theo is fit.

Senegal is not too bad I guess.
African qualifying is fucked. Egypt usually make the ACN and win it and fail when it comes to the World Cup. Maybe that is going to change

Team news - Wilshere, Vermaelen, Gibbs

Arsène Wenger reported the following team news ahead of the Swansea game:

on the team news...
We have Diaby and Wilshere (both ankle) out. Vermaelen has had his surgery, which went well. So there are three players out there. The other one who may not be available is Rosicky, who came back with a kick on his knee. We'll see how he is tomorrow morning.

on Jack Wilshere's injury...
He has an inflamed bone. He will be one month in a boot and we'll see how he responds after that. We have got the best specialists in the world to assess his case because it is an unusual one. He said he felt it the first time for England against Switzerland, although he did suffer from a similar problem years ago. He thought it would go away but when he came back in pre-season it became slowly more painful again. It got to the stage at Emirates Cup where we had to stop him.

on Kieran Gibbs and Theo Walcott...
Kieran is back. Theo has been working hard and is fit. All the others players came back from international duty in good shape. Everyone else is available. Emmanuel Frimpong is back too.

on suspensions and other availabilities...
Santos is a bit short because he has not had competition since the Copa America. He is practicing well though. We also have Gervinho and Song suspended but it is their last game out from the Newcastle match. Jenkinson is suspended as well after two yellow cards at Manchester United. Squillaci (calf) is not back yet.
