Bring on Yossi or Arshavin and have Arteta drop back a bit.

What I'd give for a player with a bit of magic in them in our midfield
Also gervinho should be burying those chances

Thought Coquelin was excellent in midfield, and was right to have him in there over Frimpong. Thought Mertesacker and Song did ok, especially Song on Adebayor in the 2nd half. Szczesny was his usual great, should've done better with the 2nd goal but it never should have got to that if Ramsey hadn't let Sandro just waltz into the fucking box.
No words can sufficiently describe how fucking angry I am with Rambo after that. He was just horrible, and on current form he shouldn't be anywhere near the first XI.

We seemed out of ideas A lot of luck went Tottenham's way though. Sagna, VDV handball and that physics-defying shot from walker.

Ramsey was shit, a couple of highlights but 95% shit. I thought Song didnt look too bad at the back and Coquelin would have to be close to MOM for us. Gervinho is frustrating (like Arshavin) will choose to go for the spectacular rather than pass sometimes when he should.

Terrible luck Sagna, he landed pretty awkwardly. Speedy recovery mate.

Lol.... as always, derby drama: Quote:There was also controversy following the final whistle when Clive Allen clashed with Wenger after the Spurs coach felt the Gunners boss had snubbed his offer of a handshake.
Wenger squared up to Allen and both had to be restrained before the Frenchman disappeared down the tunnel.
Redknapp admitted Allen was unhappy at the apparent snub. "I think Clive went to shake hands with him and he missed Clive - he didn't see him," Redknapp said.
"You either shake hands and mean it or you don't shake hands at all. If he doesn't want to shake hands, it's his prerogative. I think he (Allen) wasn't happy."
When asked what happened with Allen, Wenger said: "Nothing. I shook the hand of the manager and the assistant manager. How many people do I have to shake hands with? Is there a prescription? There were no words exchanged." Wenger in the spotlight once again. Could have been much easier just to shake him hand

Just saw the highlights. Any person who thinks VDV should have been given a yellow for his celebration need to be taken out the back and given a lesson.

We were pretty pathetic aside from the 10 or so minutes either side of Rambo's goal. Coquelin and Szcz were excellent, the rest, especially Ramsey and Arteta, pretty piss poor.
I also still can't get over the complete fucking stupidity of sending Mertesacker to CF, and then proceeding to not send any crosses into him whatsoever. Then we get a corner in the last second of the match, and play it short. Just ridiculous.

Hard times to be a gooner. Fair play to Tottenham, they beat us fair and square. Yea they got lucky but that's football. I would've been stoked if we got lucky like that. We should've been able to beat them. We really just aren't good enough anymore. It's hard to see any positives about our season now it's just getting worse every week. Players are dropping like flys. Players are making basic errors and just genuinely playing like shit. I don't agree when people say they're not good enough, I think they are. Just everyone is playing in a shadow of their potential at the moment.
Fucking frustrating.

Thought it was a even game which required moments of individual quality from spurs which we seem to be lacking at the moment. We had our chances but couldnt make the most of them
I think now that Sagna's busted his leg and is out for 3 months, we could do worse than shift Coquelin to right back (he spent sometime when on loan at Rennes) and play Frimpong at DM (or song when we have a Cb back)

I hate to say it but we are fucked now without Sagna. Jenkinson isn't good enough to be starting regularly, and haven't seen any of Coquelin there so not sure. I would really love Arsene to just say fuck it and go 4-4-2. I know it won't happen but would love it if it did. I'd go with something like this at the moment with our injuries. ---Szczesny---
--Jenks/Coquelin---Koscielny---Mertesacker---Gibbs---
--Walcott---Song---Arteta---Gervinho--
---RvP---Chamakh--- Obviously TV comes in once fit. I'd have RvP in a free role behind Chamakh where I think he would be best. Only problem would be what to do once Jack is back, but like I said it won't happen do doesn't really matter.

Problem with that is none of the attacking four will contribute to the middle of the park, leaving you overrun. That kinda form only works if you have a wide player who comes inside (like Meireles did for us) a striker who drops deep (Rooney). IMO.

I'm not much of a football analyst but I'll give it a go. Ramsey was fucking horrible last night. Cost us 3 really truly awful mistakes in the middle 3rd of the pitch when the whole side was set up for attack, and then our transition to defense was way too slow against a quick team like Tottenham. My gosh Spurs have some quick players though, something we really lacked last night. Having said that, at about 30 mins when Gervinho shot wide of an open goal with RvP cutting the ball back to him on the penalty spot... I just shook my head. Had he of scored that, game could have changed so much. Scezny really does hate conceding which I love, and he made some great saves shame about Spur's winner but as you said that's football. Until Spurs first, we totally dominated the mids but then Ramsey kept making those mistakes I'm talking about and we looked shaky as anything at the back. Can't beleive still no defensive coach.

i think that match showed how we miss song in the midfield. hes done very well this year and has shown he can make a killer pass or two.
i think a better 442 would be walcott up front (hes not good any where else) and alex on the wing.

Not sold on Jenkinson, would rather see Craig Eastmond given another look in. He had some very good games in the Carling Cup and could be worth a shot. Also would love to see Theo and RvP up front, Theo would atleast keep defender on their toes for 90 minutes. ---Szczesny---
--Eastmond---Koscielny---Mertesacker---Gibbs---
--Benayoun---Song---Arteta---Gervinho--
---RvP---Walcott---

Yeah on second thought Benayoun on the right would probably be the best option. I'd love to see any of Theo, Chamakh or RvP upfront together tbh, as well as Park.
The reason i chose Chamakh is because that would allow Robin to have more of a free role to roam around, more so than he would be able to with Theo.

RedKat wrote:Benayoun looked to give a bit of creativity to Arsenal when he came on. Would definitely agree with the statements on here to give him a starting XI berth I'd only give him a starting berth if we went 4-4-2 which we won't be doing, even though I hope we do. That being said though I wouldn't mind seeing him or Arshavin start just behind RvP with Arteta dropping back in next to Song and Ramsey to the bench.

I'd bench Ramsey and then drop Arteta deeper where he is best imo.
