Hinderz wrote:I want to see park play before I start calling for another striker in Jan You'll get your chance against Bolton in the League Cup this week. I think we need another striker anyway, especially with Chamakh off to the ACN in January. It's also hard to believe that if we beat Chelsea next week we'll only be 3 points behind them. Who would've thought that possible after Old Trafford.

Im loving how we're getting our grip back, but without Szczesny and Van Persie we'd be so screwed.

One other thing I am loving is how good Santos has looked so far. Very solid, a lot more than I thought he'd be. I was thinking he'd be your typical Brazilian wing back, excellent going forward but suspect at the back, so far that's turned out to be far from true.
Also developing a huge man crush for Koscielny  He's stepped it up a level this season, really proving those wrong who said he was a waste of 10m or not good enough.

I only just came across this but this is crazy
"Diaby, who had his ankle broken in 2006 by Sunderland's Dan Smith, has had an astonishing 28 separate injuries since. He has never really recovered to full strength and is unavailable to play against Stoke."
28 injuries in 5 years!!!

Edited by Hinderz: 25/10/2011 04:08:33 PM poor bloke :( its such a shame because he's an incredibly hardworking midfielder, and when he gets into gear does so much for the team.

Would like to see Aneke at least get a good 25-30 mins off the bench.

------Park------ Interesting Andre Santos isn't in there, while there players that can play there, there are no real out-and-out fullbacks in that squad, obivously injuries are keeping Jenkinson, Gibbs and Sagna out. XI looks about right, maybe Boateng in for Yennaris, not sure, but I thought Nico was more at home in the midfield.

What doesnt make sense is that this isnt on Fox... Instead a league 2 side vs GloryHunter Utd?

no chamakh or rosicky is what suprises me. They're both available so why they're not in the squad is crazy.

Good 2-1 win. Nice goal by Park, hopefully this will push him up the order and past the over-paid goat herder.

I can tell by that distinct movement, the first goal is Arshavin right?

Excellent finish by Park. Great to see him open his account. Also good to see Andrei get a goal and an assist.

Was Arshavin playing behind the striker or out on the wing? A goal and an assist is a pretty good day at the office.
I dont see Chamakh burying that same chance as Park, he probably would have tried to square it back to Arshavin. Cool finish, I love that he knew it was in the second it left his boot.

I wouldn't be surprised or saddened if we sell Chamakh in January. He's been woeful since his first 10 or so games last season, he just has no confidence and doesn't seem to enjoy the physical nature of the EPL.
Park looks the goods in front of goal, even on the Arshavin goal he was in a perfect position if the ball had been cut across the box. Chamakh would've probably still been jogging forward when the cross was made had he been on the park.

Chamakh won't be sold in January, simply because I can't see a deal being done while he's at the ACN.
Whether he's sold or not I think we need to bring in another striker in January.

Whether he's sold or not I think we need to bring in another striker in January. We could try and recall bendtner or Vela. Great to see Park scoring, found out this morning when a korean mate of mine runs up to me with his phone to show me. the way he manages to use his right foot even when it looks pointless (not so much that shot, but brilliant nonetheless) is amazing.

Either way I can't see him being sold in January.
