So Emmanuel 'Dench' Frimpong is apparently going to dye his hair pink
This all comes from him saying he'd dye his hair pink if we smashed Chelsea  Legend.

So Marseille in the morning. I think we'll see something like this. ---Szczesny---
---Jenkinson--Koscielny--Vermaelen--Santos---
----Song--Arteta----
---Rosicky--Arshavin--Benayoun---
---Park---

Too offensive IMO. Benayoun, Arshavin and Rosicky are all hopeless defensively, and Arteta isn't strong enough in the middle to accompany Song imo. You need Song with another midfielder who can win help break up play, otherwise you'll get overrun.
Just an opinion.

Just an opinion. As opposed to having Theo and Gervinho on the wing, who don't track back at all. Compared to them two Benayoun and Rosicky are a brick wall  While Benayoun may not be the greatest defensively, what you will get from both him and Rosicky is a lot of tracking back. They will help out and support the full backs, and will really help Jenkinson who has to be said for all the criticism he gets he has an excellent cross on him. Speaking of Rosicky, he has been outstanding defensively this season so don't have any problems with him there. As for Arteta next to Song, he's played there during this whole good run of ours, so doesn't seem to be to much of a problem. Edited by sydneycroatia58: 1/11/2011 10:18:04 PM

Meh, if you'd told me before the 2 games against Marseille we'd get 4 points from them I'd be happy.
Another clean sheet is always a positive. Didn't look so sharp going forward, and you could tell in the 2nd half some players were out on their feet. A draw against Dortmund sees us through.

Honestly, it scares the hell out of me but I fucking LOVE having a keeper who's got the confidence to try a cruyff turn near his own corner

It feels good now to be able to pick a fully fit First XI, minus Jack and Sagna. Interesting to see how long it lasts

Impressive display against a poor West Brom team. Jenkinson particularly impressed and the back 4 was strong despite giving away some silly free kicks. In all honesty though, there wasn't much of a threat.

Routine 3-0 win, not much of a fight from West Brom. Agree about Jenkinson, he made some fantastic overlapping runs down the right and continued to show how good he is going foward. However, it's not like there was much threat at the back to leave him caught out up front.

Yeah basicalkly as routine as we could've hoped for going into an International Break. Was a lot easier than I thought it'd be.
Thought the midfield was excellent, and we are really seeing Rambo, Song and Mikel start to work well together.
Kosicelny and Vermaelen were excellent and I think they'll be out first choice pairing from now on.
Jenkinson and Santos were solid. Jenkinson going forward is excellent, but man does he get up and down that wing. While people may question his quality one thing you cannot question is his commitment, you are guarenteed to always get 100% from him.
I think we also showed once again that we aren't the one man team people think we are.

Are we running a pool on who will return from international duty injured? I'll take Koscielny, groin strain.

I think Arseblog summed up perfectly the match yesterday.\ Quote:momentum continued yesterday with a win so routine it made you sit up and realise how long it's been since we won a game quite so easily

i also think it also shows how momentun creates more momentun. if we lost against chelsea 5-3 other teams will think they have a better change against us (leaky defence), put more effort in etc.

This, it's also a great result to go into an International break with, was also important to not let our guard down after the Chelsea match and I for one am very proud that they didn't just collapse and kept going and killed off West Brom.

Quote: Wenger - We’re fortunate to have Arteta By Joe Brewin Arsène Wenger is in no two minds about the importance of Mikel Arteta to the Arsenal team. The Spanish midfielder was on target in the 3-0 win over West Brom on Saturday, firing home the team’s final goal to cap a fine display at Emirates Stadium. Arteta has featured in every available Premier League fixture since his move from Everton in the summer and manager Wenger believes he is a crucial cog in the Gunners machine. “He is an important player for our team,” he said. “He is really a player between Song and Ramsey or Rosicky and that gives us continuity. “When we need to keep the ball he can achieve that - Jack [Wilshere] can do that as well. But with Jack missing he is a player who can keep the ball when it is needed. “He is adapting to our game. If you look at the stats in the Premier League, Arsenal are the team who play the least balls backwards. “That means when you have the ball it is not only a question of decision-making, it's a question of opportunity. It's about how many players you have in front of you - if you have players behind you have to play it backwards.” Although a regular in the Premier League for the last six years, the 29-year-old is yet to receive international recognition in a Spain shirt. Wenger thinks Arteta has been somewhat unfortunate on that front. “In a different way he is like [Ryan] Giggs,” he said. “He had the bad luck to play for Wales who never went to a big tournament. Arteta was born in Spain where they have plenty of midfielders who are absolutely outstanding. “What maybe didn't help him is that he was very young and he did not move to clubs who were maybe as glamorous as they should have been. “At the time he went very young to PSG when they were not going very well. After he moved to Rangers to try and convince Spanish managers he deserved a place in the team and then to Everton. “It shows what I always say - 90 per cent of a player's career is the club. It's the club who makes the career of the players. If he was English he would have an international career here.” http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/wenger-we-re-fortunate-to-have-arteta He really has been an excellent signing. Really is great to see him now linking up very well with Rambo and Song. I also think his signing has also really helped Ramsey stand up and show just how good he can be. People always say Jack will be the eventual replacement for Cesc, but I think Aaron is the much much better prospect in that position.

Like I said earlier, I see Ramsey as being our successor to Cesc eventually. bypopulardemand wrote:I always though cesc played better deeper... Tbh I don't think it ever made a difference with Cesc. Whether he played further forward or deeper he was always a class above, but I agree with you he was better coming from deep. The big difference between him and Arteta is the way they use the ball. Cesc would get the ball and immediately look for a forward pass. Mikel on the other hand, is always looking for the ball and just slowing it down a bit. He brings such a calmness to our midfield that we haven't really had for a while, and I think we're seeing the benefits of him gelling with Ramsey and Song really well.

Arteta has the ebst composure on the ball that I've ever seen, and I'm not exagerating. Just everytime he gets it he look so calm even under pressure and he is always able to hold it up. Used hte follow him at Everton and was so happy we got him as he was my favourite player outside of Arsenal in the league.

Some reactions on these rumoured comments: Quote:Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has promised he will never leave the club. "Can I promise I will be at Arsenal for ever? I can promise that, yes. I've been at the club since I was nine and I've learned to love it. I'll never quit Arsenal." I sure know he is as committed as anyone I've witnessed in an Arsenal jumper before. Note: I don't have a source, I assume twitter or an interview, someone else might know?
