Few transfer rumours around.

The Metro in England has used the old favourite "Sources close to the player" to say that Mario Gotze's preffered club if he were to leave Dortmund would be Arsenal or Barcelona. Has been a shitload of talk going around lately about a move in January, now if we were to sign him in January I would lose all of my shit. It's a long shot though.

Also reports that we had scouts at Koln on Friday to watch Lukasz Podolski. Not the first time we've been linked with him, and he would be a good signing, especially since we need another body upfront.

Would be absolutely delighted with either of those, both would just be amazing. I think Gotze's unlikely though, I read he'll cost upwards of £30mill.

Yeah the biggest stumbling block with Gotze will be the price, but we did apparently put a bid of something like 30m in for him in the summer, so the interest is there and is serious so nothing would surprise me.

As for Podolski, I think he could be a brilliant signing, and I would really really love for us to sign him.

Couple of interesting Opta stats.

71 - Mikel Arteta is averaging 71.1 successful passes per game at Arsenal, more than any other player in the 2011-12 PL. Integrated.

1 - Arsenal have lost just one of 58 midweek home matches since moving to the Emirates Stadium. Fortress

Starting XI: Fabianski, Djourou, Squillaci, Koscielny, Miquel, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Frimpong, Coquelin, Benayoun, Park, Chamakh

Think we can chalk this down as a loss, no recognizable full-backs in the XI can't see it being a very fluent performance. Unless we can hit them on the break, I think we'll really struggle to create chances.

Been very very happy with the energy shown by the team in that half. Been very impressed. Don't really care about the result today as long as we play well I'll be happy.

Koscielny has been outsatanding, as have Coquelin, Frimpong and Ox.

We may have lost, didn't deserve to, but everyone of those players can hold their heads high. So immensely proud of them.

Thought Coquelin, Frimpong, Benayoun, Koscielny, Miquel and most of all Ox really stepped it up. A lot of good signs moving forward.

Result really flattered City, we were very solid and all of those young lads were brilliant. Koscielney has been immense all season, he's proven us all wrong and has become a proper fan favourite.

How funny is it when Nasri shits himself every time Frimpong is near him :P
Nasri was absolutely shocking, must have stage fright or something.

Chamakh was appaling, Park wasn't that much better, but at least he worked hard.

Criticise Chamakh about his general play, but one thing you cannot criticise him for is his workrate. He runs his bollocks off and consistently has some of the highest numbers in terms of distance run.

Oh dear Samir Nasri, not only do you play like shit and want to come off after 30 mins, but then you decide to ark up and throw a punch at Frimpong and run off into the City dressing room  Always has been a little bitch. Then apparently Chamakh went after Nasri, which I have to say if it's true makes me love him a lot more.

Note: This is all just rumours at this stage

Bollocks, he ran out of steam by half time. Came back to do a bit of defending and then stood still just outside the 18 yard box for the second half. His positioning is just all wrong.

Edit: I thought Frimpong's shirt said Dench. I have since been corrected; it says 'BENCH' and then proceeded to show Nasri.

Hahahahahaha! There's only one Frimpong!! Also I will forgive Chamakh for his poor performances for chasing Nasri.

Great performance - poor result and Mr Wenger you seriously need results...

Playing the youth is admirable and they acquitted themselves well (Frompong and The OC especially) but as an excuse that ran out a long time ago - he needed to play a stronger squad! We really needed to beat City this morning to send a statement across the league.

I know it's a competitive environment but will this be another season with no trophy...?

Aside from the FA Cup, considering our league position nothing short of winning the CL and denying a hopefully 4th placed Spurs a place in the CL will suffice now.

What team were you expecting to be put out this morning? In fact I'm glad he put out the team he did and rested most of our first XI. They needed the rest. If he had played our strongest team people would've been complaining about the players needing a rest. Why exactly did we really need to beat this morning? All it would've meant is another 2 matches in an already packed January. It may not be such a bad thing to avoid that.

As for seriously needing results. That is just lol worthy. In the 11 matches since the loss against Sp*rs we've won 8, drawn 2 and lost 1. Those results aren't to bad.

Apparently Frimpong indicated to Nasri that he wanted to sort him out in the tunnel, which doesnt surprise me coming into the game I thought he might get himself sent off trying to give Nasri a kicking. Samir might look soft as shit but he was never a pussy

"Frimpong indicated to Nasri that he wanted to sort him out in the tunnel" - That part happend on the pitch and was reported by quite a few different people. As for everything else, the fact that people are saying things like "Rumour has it...." or "these are rumours" usually indicates that they are taking about rumours, which should be taken with a grain of salt as they dont know for sure

Frimpong was going to sort him out in the tunnel and all that stuff.

They probably all met up in the players lounge anyway. If they hated him that much he wouldn't have played at OT before his move was officially confirmed.

EDIT: I think he was involved? I forget :d Might have already signed for City, I think he might have

Like I said all that stuff in the tunnel was all rumours, I acknowledged that. But Frimpong was at him all game winding him up, and if there's one player that's going to go after Nasri it's Frimpong. He was the one player who came out and openly criticised him for his move to City.

So would not surprise me one bit if it did kick off in the tunnel.

Oh and it's the Liverpool game you're thinking of that he was involved in before he left.

Samir Nasri was involved in a tunnel bust-up with former Arsenal team-mate Emmanuel Frimpong after helping Manchester City reach the Carling Cup semi-finals.

The pair, who clashed on Twitter when Nasri left for City earlier in the season, gestured to each other as they approached the tunnel after the final whistle of a tie settled by Sergio Aguero's only goal.

Arsenal denied punches were thrown but a witness confirmed the players confronted each other as they left for the dressing rooms at the Emirates Stadium.

Did the shirt under his top that Frimpong showed Nasri actually say BENCH. Couldn't really tell from the photo I saw whether it was a B or a D, but if it did I tip my hat to him.

Edit: looks like Dench in that photo below.

Yeah it said Dench. Lots of people got all excited with the possibility that it said Bench, and tbh if it did say Bench I would lose my shit, and I think Frimpong would've cemented his place as a fan favourite for the rest of his life

I reckon Frimpong should have been happy with Nasri leaving. One less midfielder to compete with. And no Frimpong isn't better than Nasri.

Why would Nasri have any impact at all on Frimpong? They are two completely different players who don't compete with each other at all in terms of places on the team.

Frimpong's direct competitors for a spot are Song and Coquelin. Nasri staying or going has absolutely zero effect on Frimpong's place.

Easy to think that way. But a fit Nasri at Arsenal would be starting. He may push a player out of position somehwere on the pitch to allow that. Happens allover the world every week. Some players having to play a different role, it's only natural.

Nasri leaving opened up a spot in midfield for another which opens a spot for another, the cycle just conintues.
