Coquelin off with what looks like a hamstring injury, looks like the Tea Lady will be filling in at full-back in the next game. Sagna, Jenkinson, Coquelin, Santos, Gibbs, Vermaelen all on cursed FB injured list.

You could not fucking make this up. Henry comes on, first sight on goal, bang goal.
He's still got it, typical Henry finish.

Even I have to admit that was a special moment for Arsenal. Could see it happening, I can see him grabbing another one now.

The look on his face and his celebration said it all about how much he loved that goal

He'll start at the very least one game in the league in the time he's here I'd have thought. It's not like he's not good enough to start. I don't follow your team or squad so don't know the chance. Does Wenger ever play 2 strikers? If so, how often? What things does Henry offer that RVP doesn't?

Wenger's played 2 strikers up top in the League Cup recently but other than that it's usually RVP in the centre with two men out on the flanks. But I can see him starting Thierry on the wing occasionally especially with the main alternative in that position being Arshavin. Also during the loan spell RVP will probably be rotated out of the starting line-up for a premier league match to keep him fresh so Henry will be the man leading the line whenever that happens.

Quote: Coquelin signs new long-term contract Francis Coquelin has signed a new long-term contract with the Club. Since returning from a successful year long loan spell with French Ligue 1 side Lorient in the summer, the France youth international has featured 12 times for Arsène Wenger’s side. Demonstrating his versatility with a string of fine performances in both holding midfield and defence, Coquelin has established himself as a valuable addition to the first team squad this term, putting in a man of the match performance against Tottenham in October and providing excellent cover in both full-back positions. The youngster, who made his Arsenal debut in the Carling Cup victory over Sheffield United in September 2008 aged 17, has now racked up a total of 16 games at senior level. As well as being a regular for the Reserves in recent seasons, he was an integral part of the FA Youth Cup-winning side of 2009 and a key member of the France team to win the European Under-19 Championships a year later. Everyone at Arsenal looks forward to Francis' continued contribution to the Club in the years to come. http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/coquelin-signs-new-long-term-contract Brilliant news. Been very very impressed with him this season. Unfortunate with the injury last night, but apparently isn't as serious as feared.

A return to 4-4-2 anyone? Although im not sure it can really work in the modern game, its all about dominating the midfield these days.

We won't be going to 4-4-2, just wouldn't work with the players we've got.

As much as I dislike Arsenal the Henry goal was a special goal. I'm glad it was he who scored the winner.

We just got utterly outplayed. Brendan Rogers has got Swansea playing brilliantly and we're just so lackluster. Not looking forward to United...

KenGooner_GCU wrote:We just got utterly outplayed. Brendan Rogers has got Swansea playing brilliantly and we're just so lackluster. Not looking forward to United... Tbh I am not actually that worried about Man Utd. Simply because this result is down to us taking the opposition lightly we always do it. The players just seem to find it so hard to step up for the games against teams we should be beating. Against the big teams though we step up and perform. Take nothing away from Swansea though they were brilliant, completely deserved their win. Just destroyed us. Thought Ramsey had a very very poor game, and his mistakes led to 2 goals. Thought Miquel played really well as did Ox when he came on. The middle 3 were meh really, didn't do anything. Theo and Shava were also very lacklustre, just couldn't seem to get going, although it was good to see Theo get a goal, and a very well taken one at that. No point dwelling on this for to long, just have to look ahead to United, where hopefully we might have Bac and TV back.

I'd seen a bit of them this season, but only when they're destroying your own team do you get an appreciation for just how good Rodgers has got them playing. I also don't know what was wrong with their defence last night considering how good they have been at home but their 2 CB's were all over the shop. That's the first time this season a side has scored more than 1 goal away at Swansea.
