Sorry but that is why United are so good, us playing at 60% is good enough to beat most teams. Our average is a top 2 or 3 spot in the league. I am saying that overall, I think Tottenham and Chelsea are better than Arsenal, things have not gone to plan for them and Arsenal have capitalized.

In terms of Arsenal and their squad change, that is to do with their squad, AVB and Harry don't lace up the boots any more and makes my point.

I'm not saying that Arsenal don't deserve to be 3rd, of course they do. I just feel Tottenham and Chelsea have shot themselves big time.

And things didn't go to plan for us at the start of the season and Chelsea and Spurs capitalized. It all balances out.

The manager is part of what makes a team good so you can't omit them when comparing teams. Where do you think you would be with the same squad without Fergie? ;)

I think you are missing the point that I am praising Arsenal and agree they deserve 3rd spot. I just think Tottenham and Chelsea have better teams that have not gone as expected over the past few months.

I can't say it again, I am talking about the players on the pitch, I have Chelsea and Spurs above Arsenal. I know the influence of managers  that wasn't the point I was making.

I get what Busby's saying, and I think that's the beauty of the league season. I don't think we're the 3rd best team in the league, but it's not about who's the better team, it's about who deals with a league season better, who can deal with those lows and come back better for it. We've done it multiple times this season, Chelsea haven't quite yet, and Sp*rs are looking in real trouble.

I've mentioned it before, but this team is obviously not the best squad we've had, but we haven't had a team with spirit like this since the Invincibles. The way these guys have reacted to all the shit we have gone through this season is amazing, and every single one of them deserves a huge amount of credit.

It's funny when people call this the worst team that Wenger has had.

I mean United won the title with 80 points last season. The 97/98 double winning side won the title with 78 points. This season we could end up with 79 points.

I still think this is the worst team Wenger has had. It isn't of the quality of previous sides but it appears that it does have the experience to cope with squeaky bum time, unlike the yids who seem to be capitulating like recent Arsenal sides.

One or two key signings and we really could challenge. The problem now is spending money...

Yeah, like I mentioned what this squad lacks in quality it makes up for in spirit and heart and just that determination that we've been missing the last few years.

I think if we can keep RvP and all our top players, get rid of the deadwood and get some real quality signings in I don't see any reason why we can't challenge for the title.

I'd like to keep Bendtner when he comes back from Sunderland, and would really like us to try and get Benayoun perfectly. Apart from that we've got Podolski coming in, I'd like to see another CB, someone like Vertonghen. Maybe another central midfielder, although that's not a huge need. And maybe another striker or another back up RB.

The thing is we don't have to spend huge amounts. I mean I'm more than happy with our first string XI. It's more just about adding some real quality backups and adding some really good depth to deal with our inevitable injury crisis.

I still disagree here, our full strength squad is easily as good if not better than anything Chelsea and Spurs can put out.

Man for man, this is how I see it.

Szczesny > Friedel
Sagna > Walker
Vermaelen/Koscielny > Kaboul/Dawson/King/Gallas
Assou-Ekotto > Gibbs
Parker > Song
Modric > Arteta
Rosicky > VDV
Walcott > Lennon
Bale > The Ox
Robin > Adebayor

Cech > Szczesny
Sagna > Ivanovic
Vermaelen/Koscielny > Terry/Cahill
Cole > Gibbs
Essien (when he's fully fit) > Song
Arteta > Ramires
Rosicky > Lampard
Sturridge/Walcott draw
Mata > The Ox
Robin > Drogba/Torres

Our inevitble injury crisis ](*,)

Good post agree with most.
But I do not want Bendtner at all, I associate him with some of our mental fragility because he seems so negative, also he basically said on record that he hates Arsenal and will never play for us again...

I think Benayoun has been a good signing given our lack of depth but I don't think it's necessary to re-sign him given that Wilshere, Miyachi, Chamberlain and Podolski might all be coming in to the spots that he has been playing. Not to mention with the guys already doing these jobs Rosicky, Ramsey and Gervinho we have enough depth.
But I understand why you say that as Wenger seems to have likened to using more natural midfielders on the left wing lately to some success. But Chamberlain and the new Rosicky can do this job at least as well as Benayoun I think.

Just two more key signings would mean the world to me:

M'Villa and Vertoghen to add to the more attacking additions of Podolski, Wilshere and Miyachi.
Santos and Gibbs both have certain attributes that they particularly excel at but aren't all round great leftbacks and are both injury prone while Jenkinson is a risky first backup. However I would reluctantly leave the fullbacks as is since we've seen that our centrebacks/Coquelin can fill in sufficiently if needed and Sagna is the sort of player that can go all season.. provided some ass hole doesn't violently break his leg.

Left Wing looks a little underwhelming but you would figure Podolski would be competing for that spot as well as filling in for RVP.
Otherwise that lineup looks murderous when combined with the new found team spirit we've been talking about

I think you got that spot on. Strange how you Picked Assou-Ekotto over Gibbs though.

Benny is one of our most consistent players, one of the most under-rated players in the Prem.

Pretty much spot on except I would probably rather have Friedel over Szczesny. Although Szczesny is a quality keeper, I just think Brad edges it for me.

I've always liked Assou-Ekotto actually. Don't know why, he's just one of the Spurs players I don't mind, and yeah, I'd put him ahead of Gibbs. Although if Kieran stays relatively injury free over the next few years than that may change.

Rosicky is EA SPORTS Player of the Month

Tomas Rosicky is the EA SPORTS Player of the Month.

Theo Walcott was a close second but it is the Czech international who runs away with our March award after picking up almost 34 per cent of the votes in the official club poll.

Tomas enjoyed an influential month at the heart of the Arsenal midfield, scoring our second goal in the 3-0 win over AC Milan at Emirates Stadium and starting every March fixture.

A memorable month was capped when Tomas put pen to paper on a new contract.

Walcott came second with 25.3 per cent of the votes after a consistent month on the flank and Thomas Vermaelen was third with 10.3 per cent.

Bar 2-3 months last season, he has never shown any consistency in form. When I used to watch him at Marseille he was inconsistent but you can see his talent. This was the same for us, and tbh he hasn't been very much of a success at City. Bloated squad or not, he doesent have the ability to perform better then Silva centrally, and is ineffective on the wings. Quite happy with the 24mil for him.

I would've liked us to push ahead more after going 2-0 up, but it never really looked in doubt.

Brilliant start to the match by Theo, just destroyed them and deserved his goal. Great finish.

Always good to see Yossi score. Has scored some important goals for us this season with the late winner against Villa away and the 3rd goal here which was a big goal in terms of this match, finally meant we could relax a bit.

So 5 point gap restored, now onto Wigan on the weekend and make it 8 before Chelsea.

Wolves have great fans. Rare you see a stadium so loud and thoroughly enjoying themselves while at the bottom of the table, guaranteed for relegation, playing like horseshit and getting smashed by a far superior team.
Without them as the sole provider of positive motivation after the first 2 goals I think it could have been a bigger thrashing.
