He said that no matter what happens this summer he will always love the club. I took that as saying that it's all still up in the air, which we've known for months. Like I've said before, I don't think he'll be sold this summer. He'll either sign a new contract or leave for free next summer.

So Steve Gatting looks likely to take over the U18's from Bould and apparently we are looking at getting Dermot Drummy from Chelsea to replace Neil Banfield as reserves coach. Both are former Arsenal players and both Arsenal youth products in the 70's

That and Koscielny's against Chelsea have to be up there with tackles of the year.

I think for us the Gibbs one wins hands down. 3-2 up in injury time when we need to win and he pulls that out. You also have to look at where Gibbs has to recover from to make the tackle, it's just incredible. Edited by sydneycroatia58: 14/5/2012 05:19:41 PM

Have to say it was so good being able to watch a goalkeeping disaster and laugh at it instead of it happening to us

Ok so we finished the season with 24 points recovered from losing positions, the most in the league. 16 of those points came away from home. Not bad for a team with no bottle.

Didn't hear anything like that from Clichy or Kolo Toure... For those who are struggling to see my point: it's because they're not wankers. Still would've rather see City win the league then United. Nananananana, Samir you're a cunt!

At least someone looks good in the new kit  Or maybe it's just starting to warm to me :D
Might be finding out what's happening with RVP in the next couple days. I have to say though from all the signs it doesn't look great.
If it comes down to it would you guys rather him stay for a year and then leave for free? or be sold for an inflated price and the money put towards a replacement?

I'd rather him stay for a year leave for free, that way we have a whole season to look for a replacement and won't be rushing it in this transfer window. And it'll be even harder to get a deal for a quality replacement done this summer with Euro and all.
Sure it may be good getting a biggish fee, but the positives for not selling him now and letting him leave for free next year far outweigh the negatives.

That being said, I still get the feeling he will re-sign.

I don't think many clubs could afford to miss out on 30odd million for a player. Arsene would probably prefer to let him run out the last year of his contract because then it gives him 2 options a) has a whole season to find a quality replacement, not a couple of months that's made even harder by Euro's and b) has another 6 months to a year to try and convince him to sign. While I realise b) is probably not going to happen, there is a chance. Like I said the only negative to not selling him, if he wants to go, is missing out on a fee, I think the positives make up for that.

Obviously there are positives but if they are offered a fee of that type, I can't see them turning it down.

I'd agree with you if it was any other player, just think there's something a bit different with Robin. I mean Arsene didn't want to sell Nasri, but the board forced that through, can't see that happening here.

I think what's different about Robin is that he's so important to team morale, which makes this all the more difficult. If he leaves I guess it would make TV5 our new captain? Not sure I see him as a guaranteed starter of every game though. Might be rotating with Mertesacker based on form. If the money went part way towards a replacement like Falcao or Cavani I would definitely want us to sell.. but that's probably unrealistic. Otherwise keep him for a year. Hope to god he's just holdong out to make sure we become more ambitious in the transfer market. I will love him forever if he forces us to make a few big signing and then re-signs :d!

Just found this, God damn hope not. The other maroon and black/navy kit is the way to go. This is horrific. Purple!? And as for the red cuffs...
