While what the Sp*rs fan said is depolorable, as a professional footballer with all the attention to anything with even the slightest racial connotations, calling someone a scum yid is incredibly stupid. Haha what a dick. It was a fair comment by the spurs fan, it will stop Frimpong from getting sent off by hurting a decent footballer with his kamikaze tackling style and will also deprive Wenger of some ammunition to bitch and moan every time Arsenal lose  So it's a fair comment to say you are praying that a young man has his arms and legs broken? If that's the case then it seems Frimpong was pretty accurate with the 'Scum' part of what he said.

I still call Tottenham fans yids, Tottenham fans still call themselves yids... Modern football I suppose.

Gotta love Frimpong... he shows more passion than most of the Emitates fans! Still love him for sticking it to Nasri - to the point that Nasri wanted to go off!
You might as well just call them spurs - it's synonymous with inferiority anyway.
So wil RvP go to Malaysia??? Wouldn't love to be a fly on the wall during that little conversation...?
If RvP leaves who will be our best player in 2012/13 and who's gonna be the most improved?

If RvP leaves who will be our best player in 2012/13 and who's gonna be the most improved? Our best player in 2013 I think will probably be Arteta or Koscielny. As for most improved, thinking that's probably between Ox and Gervinho, although Gervinho won't be helped by the ACN being on again in January.

This weekend is a big moment in the whole RvP situation. If he goes on the Asian tour I'd say there may be a good chance he will not be sold this summer. If he doesn't though, just like Cesc last summer, I'd say he's as good as gone.

Obviously you want him sold right? Seeing as he's dead to you and all that.

It'd be hard to see heaps of improvement from Wilshere (2 seasons back), Arteta, Sagna or even Walcott (though consistency would be nice). I think Gibbs has to be pushing Santos while Ramsay (under pressure from Wilshere) must finally realise some of those 'new Cesc' comparisons with more consistency and forcing a starting place. If TV5 & Szeszny improve (deliver their best every week ~ like Kompany and Hart) then we come close to being legitimately in the title race. Despite RvP staying or going our defence will determine our fate.

If TV5 & Szeszny improve (deliver their best every week ~ like Kompany and Hart) then we come close to being legitimately in the title race. Despite RvP staying or going our defence will determine our fate. I think with Wilshere everyone needs to be patient, and most importantly realistic. I mean it's gonna be a while before he's playing regularly and at the top of his game. Anyone expecting him to be straight back into the swing of things from game 1 needs their headcheck. From Arteta, Sagna and Koscielny I expect more of the same consistent performances week in week out. Really wanna see TV5 turn some of the patchy brilliance from last season into more consistent performances. Theo is an interesting one, last season I thought was close to his best season, just a needs to be a little bit more consistent and he'll be fine. I mean he's improved everything he's always criticised for. People always said he couldn't finish, he's improved that out of sight the last 2 seasons. People said he couldn't put a decent cross/final ball in, again he's improved that hugely, just look at the amount of assists he put on a plate for Robin last season. Gibbs, if he can stay fit, will probably end up first choice LB. All he needs to improve on a bit is his positioning, and at least with him we have a LB who plays slightly ahead of the CB's not keeping everyone onside like Clichy used to do. I think we could see Santos pushed forward a few times this season, was interesting to see him playing there over the weekend.

Without Robin Van Persie and without any meaningful investment following his departure we will not get top four let alone a title challenge. I would rather him stay and it's quite sad that he's "dead" to a lot of gooners. One minute he's a legend, the other he's a c*nt... RVP single handedly got us top four.

Probably going to get some stick for this, but I would love for us to line up with Arshavin in the hole. All this talk of signing a new AM when imo we have a class one sitting on the bench/ out on loan. Has and never will be a winger.

Quote: Carlos Vela in talks with Real Sociedad Arsenal Football Club has announced that striker Carlos Vela is in San Sebastian this evening for final discussions about a permanent move to Spanish La Liga side Real Sociedad. The 23-year old Mexican international spent the whole of 2011/12 on loan with the Spanish club and enjoyed a successful campaign in La Liga, scoring 12 times in 35 appearances. Vela made his Arsenal debut in 2008 and has made 62 appearances, scoring 11 goals. Further news will be issued on www.arsenal.com in due course. http://www.arsenal.com/news/news-archive/carlos-vela-in-real-sociedad-talks Spanish media reporting a fee of around 3.2m

I always liked Vela, but I think he lacked the focus and mental edge to make him consistent enough at this level.

Yeah I always liked him too, I struggle to get my head around how Walcott (who I like) made it in the EPL and Vela didnt. Apparently the best finisher at the club and super quick, no right foot though.

Vela has never been able to deal with the physicality of the EPL, Theo on the other hand has bulked up considerably in the last few years and has really come to terms with the physicality. I like Vela, he just never once proved he was good enough to be anything more than a squad player for us.

BBC reporting that we've recieved bids from City, United and Juve for RvP and that he will not be going on the pre-season tour. Now if that's true, that he's not going on the tour, then he's as good as gone. Really hope that if there isn't a big difference in the offers we just accept Juve's offer. Apparently he would prefer a move to Italy anyway if reports are to be believed.

Just hope that if he is sold it's done in the next 2 or so weeks. Needs to be done as soon as possible.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18922208Arsenal have turned down Man United's offer for RVP. We're holding out for 25-30 million apparently- I doubt we'll get that much for a 30 year old with one year left on his contract.

Yeah apparently we're only willing to listen to offers starting at 20m.

I'd only listen to bids below 20m if they came from the continent, just to not sell him to a rival. Place a premium on him going to a rival.
