 Arsene wasn't kidding when he said that with Santi you're not sure which is his stronger foot. Of the 41 goals Santi has scored in the top flight 24 have been with his right and 17 with his left.

Mate, I've no idea!

It's rubbish that the under 21s don't play during international football. Can't believe that.

Santi Cazorla is the EA SPORTS Player of the Month.

The Spain international made it two wins out of two after another impressive month for his new club.

Santi kicked off September with a goal and an assist for Lukas Podolski as Arsenal won 2-0 at Liverpool. He pulled the strings as Southampton were beaten 6-1 at the Emirates and helped Arsène Wenger's side get their Champions League campaign off to a winning start at Montpellier.

Santi won our official poll by a landslide in August but it was a different story this time with Carl Jenkinson pushing the playmaker all the way. Carl's solid displays at right back earned him 21.4 per cent of the votes - eight per cent less than Santi.

Gervinho finished in third with 15.5 per cent of the votes after scoring three times in September - against Southampton, Montpellier and Chelsea - from his new central role.

SEPTEMBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH RESULT
Player   % of votes
Santi Cazorla

Carl Jenkinson

No surprises there. He's been nothing short of outstanding. We got an absolute bargain.

Yepp, was great this month. Really really happy that he has established himself as an actual competitor for the 1st team spot when Bac gets back.

I'd rather keep Jenkinson there to be honest, why fix what isn't broken?

Simple really, because Sagna is a much better RB. As good as Jenks has been he's still not better than Bac.

Agree. It's inevitable Sagna will reclaim his place. Absolutely no need to rush him back though.

On the other hand It's increasingly doubtful that we will be holding onto Bacary for much longer. Time to plan ahead?

There has to be some extended justification then simply "he's better", Bacary hasn't played a game almost since Christmas. I mean, he's a great right back, but why should we kick someone out who hasn't put a foot wrong? Reputation shouldn't precede performances and Jenkinson has been putting in world class performances. I'd like to see how he does against the likes of Gareth Bale and co. My opinion may change then.

Obviously though it's a good headache to have and a nice change in discussions from finances.

Not to mention he was out for longer last time and came back straight away as if he was never gone.
Agree that he has to earn it though.

Jenkinson has been great... but it's only been a handful of games. Let's see if he can keep it up.

Really? I thought he went out at around Christmas against Tottenham. My memory isn't up to scratch but it makes sense. I think he came back and then got injured again or something. Either way he hasn't had a lot of football.

Like Neanderthal said, he needs to earn his place back into the team.

Patrick Viera has today accused English players of lacking the pride and hunger to play for their country.

Thats a bit rich coming from the man who opted to play for France over his native Senegal.

His family moved to France when he was 8 and he didn't actually get back to Senegal until 2003. Not as if he moved to France already as an adult.

Most people who move overseas at 8 years old will feel much more of a connection with their new country than their old as well as having the accent of the new one as he does.

Senegalese have a french accent.

That's no argument. I know plenty of people who feel strongly about their country of origin.

Why the fuck would Senegalese people have a French accent?

Well documented that people who move overseas in their low teens or younger will usually end up with an accent closer resembling that of the new country. The teenage years are most influential in that respect.

I'm sure most people do feel strongly about their country of origin. Vieira probably does too. I don't see what that proves.
He would have much more memories and identify much better with the French.

That's like saying Australians and Americans have English accents because they spreak English #-o

And in actual fact they don't speak much French at all, although it's their "official" language.
Only something like 10% can understand it.

Neanderthal's right I'm afraid, apparently the French can recognise different accents depending on which part of France they're from. I imagine it's the same with French Africans. On that note, Arsene Wenger has a slight German twinge to his French, his home town of Strasbourg borders Germany apparently.

"The only snippet of Arsenal related news is that Carl Jenkinson was invited to train with the England squad yesterday as they had a session at London Colney. Roy Hodgson isn’t calling him up just yet but obviously wants to show him that his international future lies closer to home. As I’m sure you know Carl has represented Finland at underage level and could declare for them. So, after sharing a training pitch with Ashley Cole I think our snowy friends can celebrate a new international player coming their way very soon."

That's fine for England wanting to bring him in but surely he will opt for Finland. I have 5 RB's ahead of him without thinking.

Yeh yeh, I know he has been good so far this season.
