I quite like the sound of Barcelona B  considering how many young players of theirs come to us and how many players we keep for a few years and send there.

A more approprate (light-hearted - we can enjoy a laugh at ourselves from time to time)title might be: Trophy Intollerant (The Arsenal FC thread) Arsene Nose (The Arsenal FC thread) The Vulnerables (The Arsenal FC Thread) Man City Feeders (The Arsenal FC Thread)
Once again this is intended as a light hearted joke - any other ideas...? The whole God's Chessboard thing is from when Cesc was still at the club and Alan Davies used to always refer to him as Jesus on the Tuesday Club podcast. Ok, I understand... still makes me cringe cos we really aren't worthy (not that I believe in God). Maybe canvass ideas for a legitimate title cos honestly it's worse than the Mancs that call their ground the 'Theatre of Dreams'.

I like Quiche's ideas haha. We can't buy class, but we can sure sell it! Other ideas (less dark haha): Four at the Back or The Back Four 41 years and counting At least we won it in colour Channel Four, a new fragrance from Spurs Other obvious ones are the Clock End or the North Bank but meh cos the United fans have done that already. Maybe Le Grove? *51 years, sorry! Fuck it's been a long time haha Edited by KenGooner_GCU: 23/10/2012 06:45:50 PM

Some good news overnight with Jack, Frimpong and Bac all completing another 90 mins for the U21's in a 2-1 win against Everton. Jack in particular had a great game, had a hand in the first and got an assist for the 2nd when he set up Eisfeld for his 2nd goal and the eventual winner.

Again, absolutely disgusting. I honestly don't know how Aaron Ramsey stays on the pitch let alone even gets a fucking start. Don't know how on earth Andre Santos has made a career out of being a LB when he quite clearly isn't. I'd rather play Vermaelen at LB.
It's no excuse for the performance or the loss but it doesn't help that we have 7/8 First XI out injured.

If Santos is starting at LB on the weekend some serious serious questions have to be asked. The goals we've conceded in the last 2 games have all come from him and his fucking retarded "defending". He really is an embarrassment.

How does someone like Andre Santos even become a left back in the first place!? Terrible performance, created nothing again. Had to wait until second half stoppage time to even fire a shot on target from Gnabry who showed a few good signs when he came on, but that's about the only positive thing I can think of that came from the game.

One positive, that might just be the last game Santos plays for a while. Gibbs is set for a fitness test before the QPR game, but even if he's not fit I'd play Vermaelen there. Jack and Ox set to be back for this weekend, not set in stone but if they are back it should mean no Rambo which is a very good thing.

Ah well, I never find myself too upset about UCL group stage losses unless they actually have a direct impact on wether we go through or not. We can just hope this shit doesn't continue against QPR.

Also makes you feel a little bit better when you remember the players we have coming back very soon.

I actually rated Santos for periods last season. He seems to have most of the right attributes for a leftback but his positioning and decision making lets him down. Might need to shop around in January given Gibbs' injury record.

We are 0-0 at home and you decide to wait until the 75th minute to bring on a striker and take off Gervinho and not Ramsey. Then after you bring on our 6 ft 4 striker you take off Jenks who is our best crosser of the ball. Can't really blame Arsene for any of those decisions.

Might need to shop around in January given Gibbs' injury record. His work ethic is poor and is way to lazy when pushing up, which is weird for him considering how much he loves to get forward. He is also missing the most important attribute for any defender, actually being able to tackle. I'm amazed he's made it this far as a fullback with no one teaching him how to stop tackling like an excited 10 year old.

Clichy was just as lazy as Santos at LB. 9 times out of 10 if a player was being played onside it was by Clichy. Gibbs is an upgrade on him.

Just managed to watch the game, and fuck me I know I prattle on so much but Gervinho needs to be dropped. Sure he gets into good positions, but he just does not have the quality to do anything, and that dive was disgraceful.
Cannot wait to see our Arteta-Wilshere-Cazorla midfield, might not make us look so lethargic, and I definitely hope that's how we line up against ManU in a weeks time.

Gervinho, if he has to be played, which lets face it at the moment there aren't a whole lot of other options fit, it has to be on the left. I think Poldi needs a rest and would like to see Gervinho there against QPR. He just has this ability to effortlessly get past his defender and get to the byline. We need to stop this playing him upfront bullshit, yeah it worked earlier in the season but he just does not fit there. We've got Giroud, fucking play him. If not then give Theo a run. One big problem at the moment is there is no drive in the midfield, that's what we miss from Jack and from Diaby so much, no other player, maybe Rosicky, is capable of giving us that. Ideal situation would be to give Jack some minutes off the bench against QPR and start against United. Edited by sydneycroatia58: 25/10/2012 07:54:38 PM

Don't think so, we were as lacklusture as we were against Norwich. Can't pick specifics, just rubbish in general. Interesting comments from AGM. Board were under fire and got heckled. Wenger claimed that top four is a trophy (no it isn't and never will be), Peter Hill-Wood came across as offensive. Final comment, Peter Hill-Wood: "Thank's for your interest in our affairs." If anybody has ever wondered what "where has our Arsenal gone" meant at the bottom of my sig, it's from these guys: the Black Scarf Movement.
