How quickly people forget that without that "greed" the club wouldn't be where they are today and wouldn't have had the success in the 90's and 00's we had without that "greed"

Could you elaborate? BSM works against the idea of having money in the bank and paying uber-bonuses to Gazidis and co.

Gotta say I feel a bit for Arsene copping grief for saying that 3rd/4th is more important than the League or FA Cup, when he's absolutely right.

They want greed out of football, that's all well and good in theory, but it falls down a bit when that same greed is what led to the Premier League almost all of the success the club has had in the last 15 years. You can't have both. They want greed out of football, but of course would be happy if the club took a bigger cut of TV money extending the gap between the top 5-6 and the rest. You can't have it both ways unfortunately. Fact of the matter is today, you don't get anywhere in football without a fair amount of greed.

Considering the ridiculous amount Arsenal fans get charged, yes I think they have a right to ask for a less greedy board. I'm for kicking greed out of football as a whole but this isn't what the BSM is about. It's about the BSM wanting the board to be accountable to fans. Currently, fans are being charged high level money to watch a second class team. No-one is allowed to question it. We're constantly being told that FFP is the next Messiah. It really isn't on.

Fourth place is not a trophy. Arsenal are a big enough club to be getting Champions League qualification AND a trophy.

Do you realise how much 14 pounds is?

My point about the fish and chips was it's not really worth complaining about. You don't like the price, don't fucking buy it, it's simple really.

As for CL qualification not being a trophy, I agree, but I also agree with Wenger considering it more important than the FA or League Cup, it most definitely is.

I can't completely disagree with you, Champions League qualification is important. The idea of 'fourth is a trophy' is bad for our club and frankly it suggests a lack of ambition.

I think the fish and chips thing is just an example of how the fans are treated, like consumers. For most people it's a day out, 14 quid is ridiculous. Obviously not priority number one though.

Wenger saying that Europe is as good as a trophy is rubbish. It's attitudes like that which have seen Liverpool tumble down the table.

Arsenal's ticket prices are obscene though. And frankly it's embarrassing for the club. The fans have every right to be annoyed.

Put it this way, if I had to choose between CL qualification or an FA/League Cup the CL would win every single time.

As a Liverpool fan what would you rather, the League Cup win last season or Champions League football?

Interesting report from Matt Scott in the Telegraph about us set to sign a new kit deal with Adidas worth 25m a year. Big news if true, and fucking excellent news at that. Would mean we'd almost double the current deal we have with Nike.

So Bacary and more likely Jack could be back in the squad tomorrow but Kieran's still not ready so we're going to have to put up with Santos for another match. I'd rather put TV there and have Kos partner Per in the centre.

Great response by Wenger (wow, can't believe I just said that):

"Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has rejected suggestions that English football would benefit from the introduction of an initiative comparable to the American-style 'Rooney Rule', which forces NFL teams to consider black candidates for every vacant coaching position.

• Blog: Same answers; less patience
• Delaney: Deja vu dominates AGM
• Brewin: Same old problems remain

Wenger dismissed claims that a breakaway black players union would help to calm racial tensions bubbling in English football earlier in the week, and he has now hit out at the suggestion that more black coaches should be welcomed into the Premier League in a structure that he suggests would be tantamount to a "quota" system.

"I have always been against discrimination, positive or negative," said Wenger. "Just to put a quota out, for me is exactly against what sport has to be. Sport is about competition and competence and you should be judged on whether you can do the job well.

"This rule would be a kind of racism and what we have all to fight for is competence, to put people who are good at their job. Whether they are white, black, red, no matter what colour, put guys who have a competence. That is worth fighting for.

"You measure people in sport by how well they play, not on the colour of their skin. You never leave any player out for a racial reason. You only field your best team and just look at the quality of the players."

Wonder if he'll get smashed by the racially frightened press for it.

Still unimpressive and a little lucky with Arteta offside for the goal but a win's a win, and of course Jack had a good game, looked the only likely to create anything for the most part when he was on the pitch.

I think this performance reaffirmed the notion "we're fucking shite." Apart from Jack, who was class; I didn't expect him to be that good on his first day back.

Most important thing yesterday was the win, clean sheet is a bonus. Also worth saying that were it not for Julio Cesar pulling out the performance of his life we would've won by 3 or 4.

Yeah, Santos looked much more comfortable and some of the saves Julio Cesar pulled off were insane and then of course there was that miss from Santi. As for Gervinho, it's an ankle problem but no indication as yet of how long he'll be out for.

Surprised at how well Jack did on his return debut.
Not a great performance but it will hopefully kickstart the confidence for next week and onwards.

I really like Giroud and his contributions... but at some point we need a striker who can score goals.
Falcau this summer anyone? o:)

How does someone like Andre Santos even become a left back in the first place!? Terrible performance, created nothing again. Had to wait until second half stoppage time to even fire a shot on target from Gnabry who showed a few good signs when he came on, but that's about the only positive thing I can think of that came from the game.

I actually rated Santos for periods last season.
He seems to have most of the right attributes for a leftback but his positioning and decision making lets him down.

Might need to shop around in January given Gibbs' injury record.

His work ethic is poor and is way to lazy when pushing up, which is weird for him considering how much he loves to get forward. He is also missing the most important attribute for any defender, actually being able to tackle. I'm amazed he's made it this far as a fullback with no one teaching him how to stop tackling like an excited 10 year old.

I would never complain about his tackling.
Even in the last two PL games he topped the team in both tackles and intercepts both games.

The only reason Santos would ever top tackles or interceptions is because teams identify him as the weak link in our back 4 and attack him relentlessly, so law of averages would suggest there's a good chance of him having a high number of tackles or interceptions. That doesn't mean he still doesn't know how to actually tackle properly and really is a horrible defender and a massive liability. I would've rathered any of TV, Sagna or Jenks at LB before Santos.

It was no surprise that the last 3 games all the goals we have conceded have come because of his defensive mistakes and everything good the opposition has done has come down his side. The sooner Gibbs is back and Santos is out of the side the better.

It's frightening watching him. Why can't we have Sagna at left back while Gibbs is out and put Jenkinson on the right? Sagna has done it before.

The two offside goals this weekend (Arsenal + Man U) I found strange that they were strange situations where the defensive line and the attacker were moving in opposite directions, very hard to call in my opinion but both wrong.

This, I have not seen the Arsenal one closely but I seriously can't blame the linesman for the Hernandez one, he is almost sprinting back onside while the defenders were dropping and to be hinest, only his body was off, it wasn't as though there was daylight between them, it was so close, just off but wasn't the worst call.
