Fair point. Especially in January, summer window not so much.

Fair point. Especially in January, summer window not so much. Yeah, in summer you shuld be able to do what you want. But in Winter you should be limited to 4 transfers or something. What Newcastle have done is ridiculous.

After saying that we're not in for Villa, it almost guarantees that he'll be an Arsenal player come Feb 1 (I'm hoping)

Fair point. Really? I think it's a ridiculous notion. Why should you limit it? There are transfer windows for a reason. So clubs can sign players.

I think Villa would be towards the bottom of the 'likely' list. He also said we weren't going to buy Arshavin about a month before we bought him. Arsene is notorious for feeding the press bullshit when it comes to transfers. I've learnt to never ever take anything about transfers at face value from him at pressers.

Poor defensive mistakes nearly cost us the game again. Well done to Giroud though. I watched the replay but I heard that ESPN showed an advert after a goal. If that's the case I think we should all spam ESPN with angry complaints hahaha.

Two very nice goals for Giroud, has to be said.

Olivier has scored 6 goals in his last 8 games. Purple patch? or is he the real deal RVP replacement? sydneycroatia58 wrote:Theo Walcott 2012/13 - 27 games, 17 goals, 11 assists
That is all. Always been saying that it's just a matter of time till Theo comes good :D He has all the ingredients, just lacked confidence imo. His technique was never half as bad as people made out.

Couldn't help but laugh at Sp*rs fans last night saying that Theo is no Gareth Bale. I really don't understand how people can talk Bale up as some 30m player and not Theo. If I had a choice between the two it would be Theo all day long.
Some interesting stats for the season so far
Theo Walcott: 17 starts, 1465mins. 17 goals, 10 assists. Goal or assist every 55 minutes
Olivier Giroud: 20 starts, 1933 mins. 13 goals, 9 assists. Goal or assist every 88 minutes
Lukas Podolski: 27 starts, 1947 mins. 11 goals, 11 assists. Goal or assist every 89 mins
Those 3 as a front 3 have just been outstanding this season. And have to say, Giroud is some flop  Still cannot believe there were some comparing him to Chamakh.

It's a bold prediction, but Giroud is the real deal. The guy has everything you want as a centre forward. Have a feeling in the next few years that 12m we paid for him will seem like a bargain.

On top of that the Giroud stats are probably somewhat distorted as he took a little while to adjust to the premier league. Take out his adjustment period and it would appear even better. Could just be a purple patch but lets hope he keeps this up. Theo and Lucas too. Defence needs major reinforcement. Really a big let down compared to the front half of the field.

Except pace which I think was some peoples concern. Doesn't seem like a problem now though with his excellent movement that makes up for it. His finishing has been very RVPesque of late. Gareth Bale this season - 20 league games, 9 goals, 1 assist. That's a goal or assist every 166 mins Theo Walcott this season - 19 league games, 10 goals, 7 assists. That's a goal or assist every 71 mins Gets even worse for Bale if you go all competitions Bale - 26 games, 11 goals, 5 assists Theo - 27 games, 17 goals, 10 assists. Then we could spread it out over the last 3 seasons(well 2.5 but for arguments sake 3) in all competitions Bale - 108 games, 34 goals, 22 assists Theo - 109 games, 39 goals, 18 assists And Theo has had consierably fewer minutes in the league over those last 3 seasons. 2010/11 Bale had 2,452 mins compared to Theo's 1,695 2011/12 Bale had 3,218 mins compared to Theo's 2,748 This season Bale's played 1,665 mins compared to Theo's 1,222 Theo is a much much more efficient player than Bale. In 2010/11 in the league Theo had a goal or assist every 105 mins compared to Bale's 306 mins. 2011/12 is the only season Bale had a better goals and assists to minutes ratio with a goal or assist every 169 mins to Theo's 171 mins. So yeah, I know which player I'd rather.

I'm sorry, Gareth Bale is a brilliant player and is better than Theo Walcott. The difference? The fact that Walcott hides in the bigger games often because he lacks the intelligence to beat the top class defenders. Bale on the other hand has scored some memorable goals against the likes of City and United. I think he's a bit overrated but is an outstanding winger nonetheless.

Not saying Bale isn't a great player, he is. Just saying that Theo deserves to be mentioned in the same argument for what he does. All we ever hear about is how inconsistent Theo is and how great and wonderful Bale is when in actual fact Theo does more with his time on the pitch than Bale does. And it's for that reason I'd much rather Bale.

And it's for that reason I'd much rather Bale. I'd like to see Bale up front to see how he'd go. The fact that opposition teams often see the way to stop Spurs is to stop Bale really makes it hard for him to have the affect he could if he was just another player. Will be interesting to see if teams start targeting Wallcott and how hi stats are affected by that.
