Thought Rambo again was very good, especially at RB. Should have been a more comfortable scoreline if Theo had his shooting boots on tonight.

cazorla and giroud both wasted very good shooting opportunites. at least theo hit the post

First time we've had two 1-0 wins in a row since the 08/09 season.

Nacho also had a good game, especially defensively, 43/45 passing at 96%, 2 chances created, 100% tackle success rate 4/4 and 3 interceptions.

Don't, just don't put Andre Santos on the pitch against Bayern...
Enven if Aresenal has nothing on the left....

Was under the impression that neither Vermaelen nor Gibbs would be fit for the first leg.

Gibbs should be fit for the 2nd leg. Vermaelen will play there if he's fit for the first leg. If he isn't well then I've got no clue  Koscielny or Sagna maybe.

As for more depth at LB, we've got Gibbs, Monreal and Vermaelen(if needed) that can play there. Not sure how many LB's you want

Was more getting at the fact that it's weird timing to be getting rid of our only available leftback right before such an important game.

I'd probably prefer Sagna at leftback though anyway.
Obviously for the long term we're fine.

Szczesny, Coquelin, Vermaelen, Koscielny, Monreal, Diaby, Rosicky, Arteta, Gervinho, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Giroud

Very happy with that lineup. Also a very very strong bench with Jack, Poldi, Theo and Santi all there.

Slow tempo tippy tappy, boring shite football topped off with no creativity and no imagination. I don't know how anyone can defend Wenger after that display. Really, really poor.

As much as you say it has to be done you know it won't be.

As for the match, I'm finding it very hard to even care anymore. Funnily enough me not caring coincides with Wanderers coming into the A-League.

I think Arsene needs to be more ruthless at the moment... The way he dealt with Santos was good. I would like to see our deadwood go for free if it would get rid of them.

I'm not sure why Podolski hasnt started this month.

I hate picking out individuals after a flat performance like that (but I will ;) ). Gervinho has to go. He doesnt belong anywhere near a team which is meant to be challenging for trophies. If you're challenging, you need players that will take opportunities when the going is tough, we have seen time and again that he cant/wont do that. A top 4 player buries one of his chances and we go on to win the game comfortably. Liam Brady said at halftime that he's not a finisher and you'd never put your house him.

Ox was poor, but i can forgive that due to his age and inexperience. Diaby had a poor game too

Totally agree about Poldi. Gervinho's had more poor games than good games in an arsenal shirt, not good enough, equal to Santos. He should be treated as such.

True, but Theo is two years younger than Gervinho, who should be just about in his prime. Im applying Theo-logic to OX. Gervinho might be a player in a few years, but we have enough wide players who are young prospects. We need 25-27 year olds to step up and do a job. To be honest, I dont care where Gervinho goes, just that he is replaced by a player that will step to play for Arsenal.

That'll do that to you.

This team should have won. No excuses, no sob story money problems, no individual inconsistencies, that side had more than enough quality to win the game. It didn't because of tactical failings. It didn't because of our insistence on tippy tappy. It didn't because we can't defend the messy situations, we can't score from set pieces (how many did we have?) and we can't penetrate teams with this slow tempo rubbish.

We kind of have been doing that a bit lately actually against the tougher opponents.

Obviously wouldn't have helped this morning though given Blackburn were totally parking the bus and the only way we were allowed to attack was through crosses.
We happened to have three out of four completely ubbish crossers on the flanks (Ox, Gervinho and Coquelin), and so it worked for them. Should have been changes earlier IMO, but obviously he was trying to save them for Bayern.

Anyway, who cares about the FA Cup these days?

If we can beat Bayern over two legs it would have to be the biggest thing Arsenal have done in years given the inhuman form they're in. And for some stupid reason I have 50 bucks on Arsenal getting the home win

Because...

I still care and so do a lot of people. It's the FA Cup, the magic, the history... It still means a lot to supporters.

Looking in from the outside, to me, it's definitely time for Arsene to go. I don't care who you bring in, anybody is really worth the chance to make an improvement, and move the club forward, because I honestly don't see Wenger taking you forward any more. He's reaching the end of his career age wise, the club has been in steady downfall for what, 3 seasons now? Gotta take the chance. The squad is good, it just needs some fresh vision.

IMO anyway.
