Conveniently? I gyazo'd the tweet, and cut out the retweets and favourites. This doesent change the fact that we were in for Higuain now does it? Arsenal fans knew it, everyone reported it, BBC, Sky, all the reliable news sites. A date of a tweet doesn't change anything, it just confirms absolutely what we already knew.

Arsene wrote:There are 18 days to go, so that is a long time in the transfer market and we will be active.
I cannot certify what the number [of players coming in will be] but we will be active until the end, that is for sure Edited by sydneycroatia58: 16/8/2013 12:02:40 AM

Wow, hats off to Arsene for this one: Quote:Arsene Wenger says he decided to sell Gervinho to Roma because the Ivory Coast forward lacked "confidence". Speaking to Arsenal's website, Wenger said:
"He is a very creative player, an instinctive dribbler and for that you need a lot of confidence to be completely efficient. I felt that in the last six months it was very difficult for him to express his talent in a confident way." A very polite way of saying Gervinho, you're shit.

I've decided to place all my EPL-related thoughts in this thread, seeing as though every man and his dog supporting any other side comes in here anyway
 at Moyes crying about the fixture list. It's like SAF is still there

Gervais is a good player but the prem isn't the league for him , plenty of players flopped in the premiership but end up superstars elsewhere .good luck to him . Also apparently Luis Gustavo could be signed before tommorow

I wouldn't be totally against it, wouldn't be my preferred signing but definitely not a bad option, especially considering he wouldn't be expected to play week in week out. Also didn't realise how much he played in Italy, only had the 1 season where he missed a massive amount of games and he's still not even 30. If he did come back and he is even half the player he was in his last season with us he would be a good signing.

Would love Flamini here again.. We are so fucked injury wise at the moment. Only 4 fit defenders, Arteta out for over a month is a massive loss, and there's no guarantee Rambo is fit to play on Saturday. Chesney Jenks-Merts-Koscieleny-Gibbs Ramsey-Wilshere Walcott-Cazorla-Poldi Giroud Is looking like our likely lineup.

Happy with that lineup, worryingly thin beyond that though
If this Flamini thing is going to happen I get the feeling there's a chance it could happen tonight so he's registered in time for Villa.

That 442 lineup is a good way to force in all of our best players, but there's just no real width with Wilshere and Ramsey in the wide spots.
I feel like Arteta never gets enough love in these lineups. Our best passer last season, our best defending midfielder last season, our hardest worker last season etc. I don't see why he should be on the bench for anyone.

Miki won't be benched for anyone don't worry about that, which is probably why Flamini isn't a bad option since he wouldn't be expecting to play every week

Wenger is kind of in the position where he has to bring in someone big now anyway. Edited by neanderthal: 16/8/2013 03:25:10 PM

Edited by sydneycroatia58: 16/8/2013 11:23:26 AM Worryingly lacking defensively also. There was an article I read this morning about Wenger being "on the hunt" for signings. If I was an arsenal fan I'd be very worried by this.
