I should clarify what I mean, I more meant that this next 2 weeks is make or break because if he doesn't do something really serious I honestly think he will have lost the whole fanbase and can't see him coming back from that and signing a new contract extension.

Only person I'd replace him with is Jurgen Klopp to be honest (who I love). He just has too much power, need Dein back to put him in his place. I can't believe we got that many injuries in one game, sometimes I think Arsenal are cursed.

Then again, better the injuries happen 2 weeks before the transfer window rather than after it.

its not one game. its arsenal year after year. every transfer window is the same. if the past excuse for transfer failing was no money, now they have money and the same failings.

the entire football division is down to wenger. and it has failed year after year. always the same problems. too many injuries, defensive frailty, wasteful in possession etc etc you know.

Only problem is that the main position we need strengthening is up front and there's virtually no suitable available options in the world at the moment.

Sure we could go for someone like Dzeko, but he'd just be like a slightly improved like for like clone of Giroud. Not worth it.
We need a dynamic striker who's an improvement on what we have. Suarez or to a lesser extent Higuain would have been ideal... But it looks like we may have left it too late and everybody available has already been snapped up.

Yeah, there's been a lot of striker movement but Assene has just stood and watched. Any news on Sagna? You guys'll be pretty slim for Wednesday.

This. I think everybody needs to hold off on the doomsday scenarios until at least the end of the window. If by then we haven't done enough but until then just hold off a little :lol:

There are plenty of names still out there that are 'on the market' so to speak: Leandro Damiao, Oscar Cardozo, Bafetimbi Gomis, Robinho, Samuel Eto'o, Lacina Traore, Erik Lamela...

Best thing that could happen now in the striker department is we sneak in some last minute bids for Ibrahimovic.
He's the only world class striker left that you would have to consider attainable for a reasonable price.

But none of Lamela, Damiao, Cardoza, Gomis or Traore are significant upgrades on Giroud IMO. Although Lamela is young so who knows.

Robinho is a proven failure in the premier league and would not come here after his horrible experience last time.

Eto'o is a decent suggestion. I'd be happy with that as a short term fix.

Damiao-Overpriced and unproven
Cardozo- Not an improvement
Gomis- Not an improvement
Robinho- Not able to lead the line, poor form past 2 seasons
Eto'o- Expensive quick fix.
Traore- Not an improvement
Lamela- Not a striker

Robinho failed under Mark Hughes. But you have to remember that Mark Hughes is so tactically inept he could make Leo Messi look like a flog.

Cop out because he's not as big a name as you want. You could say that about just about any striker.

You've got Giroud for that. You're looking for a dynamic second striker. Which Lamela, Robinho and Eto'o can all do.

Michu ?

We're not looking for someone to play alongside Giroud, we're looking for an alternative to him. Cazorla, Rosicky and Wilshere are plenty enough for our AM role.

If Lamela isn't a striker then neither is Michu.
If Cardozo isn't good enough then neither is Michu.
If Damiao is too expensive then so is Michu.
