Someone like Julio Cesar for example who is surplus to requirements for QPR would be much more of a bargain at the end of the window. Would not be surprised to land him on or around deadline day.

Pretty much. The later in the window you get, the harder it becomes to research and build a bid for a replacement player. So you're going to pay more to compensate for that.

In Pv4's scenario chances are that player is already transfer listed.

I totally rate Giroud and fully expect him to improve this season and score a tone of goals. But he's just not comparable to the likes of RVP, Henry or Bergkamp.

I don't think Di Maria would handle the physicality of the EPL any way.

Coutinho and every other 'weak' player says hi. He would be used to being kicked to bits in La Liga and Liga Portugesa.
