pv4 wrote:imnofreak wrote:Not really that different to last year  wat In a league where you would want to be losing at the very maximum 6 games to actually win the title - one win, especially in the first 5 games, is a monster difference. Definitely. we have completed 13.15% of the season and have 3 more points than last season, if that continues, 22.8 more points than last season! Obviously I'm being slightly facetious, but there is no need to underplay the importance of 4/5 wins to start the season.

I don't know what's worse about that pic. That somebody bothered to look it up. That the point fails across the past two seasons...or that someone was bitter enough to edit "scum" instead of Spurs each time .

As for this whole squad depth debate bollocks, the only positions that you could say are looking thin at the moment are CB and ST and even then, the situation isn't half as bad as people like to make out.

Not really worries about our squad at all. Despite Ozil, it's pretty much the same squad as last year. Come the busy part of the season, you guys will still be very short on strikers. Özil and Flamini make a serious difference. Without them we wouldnt have been able to have Cazorla and Wilshere playing / covering in the forward line. Compared to a couple of years ago the squad is a good mix of youth and experience which is also a plus. Also it makes a fair difference that the british boys are a year older and more experience and guys like Per, Arteta, Cazorla and Giroud are a year more integrated into the squad. It'd be nice to have another striker but hopefully Giroud can play most of the season. I suspect if the injury list improves and wingers are available Wenger would probably go for Podolski or Theo before Sanogo or B52. Maybe a signing or loaner in Jan aswell? One of the commentators last night was saying Arsenal have the most league points in 2013 which is a promising sign.

Just watched the second half after avoiding spoilers all day. Imagine beating stoke 3-1 purely on set pieces. Loving Mesut more and more every game. I think Jack is suffering from being played on the left, but having said that he had a number of beautiful stand out touches during this game. Gnabry actually impressed me by not looking at all out of place. Wouldn't mind seeing more of him while we have so many injured wingers. Gives us something different in the wide spots. sydneycroatia58 wrote:I feel silly for ever doubting the idea of signing Flamini on a free. I think he's definitely improved alot since he left last time. Amazing options and depth in central midfield at the moment. sydneycroatia58 wrote:Don't think we need anymore RB's, any more than 2 is overkill really. Although it seems Arsene may be transitioning Sagna into a back up centerback role. Apparently tried to sign Juanfran so we're obviously on the market for one.

Flamini warned by the FA for apparently telling Marc Wilson that if he fouled Jack one more time "I'll blind you"

Same thing with us apparently being linked with Montoya.

What.A.Fucking.Legend. Apart from the insane events I witnessed at KFC yesterday (check the WFMB thread), this is the greatest thing I have seen this week, this month, this year

What.A.Fucking.Legend. my love for him will be at dangerous levels soon. Let me put it this way.. Since Vieira left Arsenal, I've considered myself a relative neutral int erms of teams to support in the EPL, but kept up to date with everything immensely. I think I was just down about the club letting him go, and just didn't feel the connection for ages. Now, every second word is Arsenal. I'm back on the train. And it is 100% all due to Flamini. His tackle in the Hotsperms game, his general demand to win games, remembering the Invincibles era and times around that, you name it. This dude has singlehandedly brought me back to the club.

Most teammates will mouth off and stand up for their mates and say stuff like that when a player is fouling. Don't see the big deal really.

I know for me it's more the fact that for years I've been wanting a player who would murder someone for a teammate. We've got players like Wilshere, Koscielny and Vermaelen who will get stuck in. but Flamini is the type of player who will go next level. Actually shocked at how much we seemed to miss him. Who would've thought, the perfect replacement for Flamini would vbe Flamini

I know I definitely said that, and will admit I was stupid for thinking so, even though neither player was the loss everyone, including Arsenal fans, thought they'd be. It's only know, in the last year or so, I can look back and see just how far from what we needed Song was. We're much much better off in the end with him gone. No, I think Flamini is cool because finally someone at Arsenal is sticking up for his teammate
